A boat capable of making 9.0 km/h in still water is used to cross a river flowing at a speed of 4.0 km/h. (a) At what angle must the boat be directed so that its motion will be straight across the river? Express the angle of the boat in the upstream direction from the direct path across the river. Also what is its resultant speed relative to the shore

Someone asked a question about mitocondria behavior during mitosis. The fact that mitochondria are transmitted via the female, I guess the sperm has no mitochondria, but then how does it get energy?

I'm not trying to get people to do my homework. I just need to know how this type of problem is done. Then I can do it on my own. The last question was helpful. So, again, the 10 points goes to whomever can get the answer and show their work first.

The reaction problems seem pretty hard to me.

The majority answered in a perfect vacuum light should go on forever. That the photons would need not worry about fait. So then, what about in outer-space vacuum where particles do exist. Do you think it is possible that light beams can only reach a distance of about 15 billion light years? (by the way for those of you, only the visible universe is estimated to be about 15 billion years old. the universe could easily be much older than that and if light is limited in its space travels because of random space particles then who knows...)

I live in Northern California. Two small birds have made a nest under the eave of my house. They are about 8-9 in long, black with white bellies, and a small orange tuft near their necks. Their nest was made with mud, and they've laid 3 small, light pink speckled eggs in it. I feel like it's taking forever for them to hatch! I wanted to identify the birds so I can research how long it will take for the eggs to hatch. Can anyone help me identify them?

If I have a wedge shape and want to use multiples of that shape to make a full circle with a hole in the center, is there a relatively easy formula for me to use to make or adjust the measurements. This will be done in fabric for a quilt. Please keep in mind that I am somewhat "mathematically challenged" so "K-I-S-S." My brain is already in overload--help!

When you blow your horn while driving toward a stationary listener, an increase in frequency of the horn is heard by the listener. Would the listener hear an increase in the frequency of the horn if he were also in a car traveling at the same speed in the same direction as you are? Explain.

Disregard all of the unfortunate conditions. In a perfect vacuum without any disruptions to the beam, does light have a maximum distance it can travel? Maybe 15 billion light years or so it starts to run out of go go juice.
