Yeah! Screw aliens! In the vast, vast universe -- the universe of proportions that we will never be able to fully understand -- WE are the only planet with life on it.

Put that theory up there against the theory that little green men actually do exist and fly around on spaceships, and I'll take the little green men anyday... because the first one just doesn't make sense, no matter which way you slice it.

But in response to the first question, a lot of people have hypothesized that aliens (or "extraterrestrial life" if you don't like the word alien) come here because they somehow already know there's life here. Maybe they can tell because we're a blue planet, and blue means water, so when they're up there flying around in their craft and they see us, they assume we've got life. It wouldn't do them much good to visit Mercury or Saturn, since there's nothing going on there. Maybe they just want to observe what is to them extraterrestrial activity in the universe, just like we do.

There is no recorded valid encounter with any aliens.
If they are intelligent then they will watch first, and discover mans inhumanity to every sentient and inanimate life on the planet. If they are smart enough to have interstellar technology then we have absolutely nothing that can interest them. We have strongly looked at the local starsn (thanks seti) and theres nothing like us nearby. Either theres nothing there, or they are not like us enough for us to detect them. If they exist and are unlike us then they are either astronomically more advanced, and already know about us and arent visiting, or they are still evolving amoeba.. and arent visiting. The farther away they are the more hugely impossible it becomes to cover the distances and the more hugely impossible it becomes to detect. Therefore the more far away they come from, the more advanced they are, the less plausible any incentive on their part to visit us.

There is no plausible motive. No intelligent alien would visit earth... if this isnt an otherwise dead universe.

Because we talk about probability of life on other planets, the probability that there is no life on any other planet in the universe is not zero.

If you dont like that idea you should ask yourself why. Why is the idea of an otherwise dead universe offensive?

First of all, it's not approved that aliens exist or not, but if they come I think it would probably be because be probably be one of the only planets that has life and they would like to study us because you know the same reason we would study aliens, to know what they are, what they do, etc. Think it this way, aliens come to our planet probably as if we were to study aliens. Hope you get what I mean.

They come here to search for milk from DA-IRY. By the way the CIA and FBI will now arive at your house and arrest you for even considering the possibility. They will lock you up with the "nonexistant" aliens in area 51 which is located in utah somewhere. It is them tahat do the anal probing not the aliens I will probably end up joining you for indulging this information.

They come down here and do the cattle mutilations to cover up the fact that they are just shop lifting steaks for a big intergalactic bbq! When they do this and get drunk then they come back to do some anal probing on people just to really confuse the issue.
That and its just for laughs, I imagine there is a bookie with odds on each and every probe to!

Threat assessment. If we ever show signs of developing relativistic spacecraft, they'll bombard us with relativistic missiles. Read
