By which I mean the toad-licking, tree-hugging, Earth-worshipping idiots who think Man's sundry activities hold a candle to the overwhelming effects of that huge fireball in the sky known as "the Sun".

Worldwide, machines like PCs, cordless phones and fax machines on standby consume hundreds of megawatts of power. It only takes a couple of seconds for a fax machine or cordless phone to be ready for use when you turn it on. So why don't we have cordless phone base stations and fax machines that consume no power while waiting for an incoming signal, and turn themselves on when one arrives?

Personally? I don't think we're ready. Most people would say, "Oh, the extraterrestrials could teach us so much." They could teach us how to live in peace." Yeah right! Get real I might sound jaded or just plain cynical, but let's face it, if we can't get along with each other here on earth, how the heck are we gonna get along with E.T. and his clique? I could be wrong of course. :)

I always try to be positive about it, and think that I will eventually be comfortable with it...afterall nobody is born knowing this stuff, yet people have studied it and gone on to be astronauts, engineers, architects, physics professors, etc. So, of course, that makes me feel better. Besides, I need it for my major. It's still an intimidating subject. What do you think about physics?

Like how do we know where mars exactly is? What kind of mapping system is used to get there. I imagine it is a little more complicated then point and shoot.

I know that the larger the object is, the more gravity it has, and that the closer objects are the more gravitaional force they have on eachother, but do scientists have any idea what the cause of gravity is? I'm pretty sure there is no known answer yet, but are there any theories?
