My oldest daughter is 4 years old and very bright. She doesn't get "creeped out" by much (she got scared at a dinosaur exhibit, but then decided that when she turned 4 it wouldn't scare her anymore - and sure enough, we went back and she went right in and had a great time). There's a "science guy" who comes to her school with tarantulas, scorpions and various lizards, and none of them bother her. So what do you think of the "Bodies" exhibit (the one where they use real bodies to educate people about anatomy)? Is she just too young for it, or will she take her cues on how to react to it from me? I'd like to take her, but my husband thinks it might be too much for her. Thanks.

An object in motion tends to stay in motion, blah blah blah.
The surface of the Earth is traveling at about 600mph and therefore so are we. If the Earth stopped instantaneously, would the tectonic plates and everything else on the surface go flying east?

its my understanding that a generator uses two different poles when it spins in the middle of a copper coil produceing alternating current but this is solved by useing a commutator but i was wondering if u were to put just the north pole of a magnet on the outside of the axle or shaft or whatever so its pointing towards the copper coil and then just attach the south pole end to the axle. would this produce a direct current when spun?

Ok, we all know normal body temperature is around 98 degrees. Then how come when it's 98 degrees outside, it feels uncomfortably hot. It seems like it should feel just right.

My understanding is... Chaos varies hairiness across a species, and it also varies the weather. An ice age kills the less hairy, and the more hairy multiply. The word "Evolving" means unrolling, like petals or a map. I don't see any analogy. Perhaps over long timescales one could argue for the unfolding of inevitable characteristics (like eyes arising in both insects and mammls) but the evidence does not suggest any pre-destined (rolled-up) ideas. Maybe the word could be replaced with something less confusing?
