The comfortable hopping speed for Red Kangaroos is about 20–25 km/h (13–16 mph), but they can hop as fast as 70 km/h (43 mph) over short distances.

I don't know but I heard that it is odd how the animal got its name. A visitor asked a native what the animal was called? The native answered kangaroo. The visitor noted the answer without realizing the the native was saying, "I don't know!"

they hop, but i have seen video of them hopping along side a car at 40 mph
