I am 32 weeks pregnant and recently learned in my labor basics class that many women have to have an episiotomy when giving birth vaginally. Does this hurt really bad? It sounds very scary to me? Can someone further explain the process to me?

My periods are very irregular. My dr put me on provera for 10 days to make me start. on day 5, My husband and I had sex. (we are ttc) @ day 10, still no period. It's been 17 days since I started them, and a week since I finished them them. Today when I went to the bathroom, when I wiped, ther was a clear and brown discharge. No more bleeding except when I went to the bathroom once and when I wiped, very very light pink. There's no blood in my urine.I have slight cramping in my lower right back. Does this sound like the start of my period or implantaion bleeding?

I have never had sexual intercourse, but my boyfriend and me touch each other. Is it possible to get pregnant this way?

I am 22 years old and I should probably already know the answer to this, but I don't.

i read some of the other posts about pregnancy symptoms but i have to ask. i had my period for only a couple days and i feel so tired and my whole body (including my breasts) are very sore. i took a test but it came back negative and i have to take another one but i was trying to wait until after the holidays (they were stressful enough) i do not have morning sickness or anything like that. i don't want to get too excited if i end up not being pregnant but i've never felt this way during my period. any advice would be appreciated!

This has nothing to do with me, but my friend who is female has been sexually active... very sexually active lately and she is worried that she is pregnant now. Over aim she told me she had sex with this guy in the car and that she was giving him oral, and that he started to ejeculate... then she said that he put on a condom and went inside of her, but then the condom kind of slipped off, but he did not ejaculate again when he was inside her. She wanted me to ask any of you if she can still get pregnant from the guys ejaculation before he went inside of her.

He's acting like he's in horrible pain. I am having back pains, and I am trying to get together the nursery, names for the baby, insurance stuff, going through mild contractions, etc. etc. But he's in bed playing XBOX and trying not to do anything but complain about having to do work because he's coughing.

I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! But I am exhausted and things are not ready for our upcoming baby, and we are seeing signs of early labor.

Am I being to hard on him?

A friend of a friend's baby was born with some slits on her neck that supposedly never closed prior to birth. The mother claims these slits are normal and help the baby to breathe while inside the womb but should close up before birth. Hers didn't.

Since she was born 4 months ago, fluid leaks from these slits and the baby will have to undergo surgery to close these slits or "gills" in a few more months.

Can you shed any light on this? I have never it of it before in my life, and I am 60 years old.

i cant remember when my last period is i think it was roughly the 29th november 2007, my baby measured crown to rump length 76mm in the ultrasound but my sonographer went by my last supposed period and has aged me at 12weeks 5days. reason being because i had sex on 10th october 2007 and the 21st when did i likely conceive taking into account the measurement of my fetus.

Is it because of the media? You know, water breaks, pant pant puff puff, rush to hospital, out pops baby?

Birth is not an emergency. Most of the time it takes a decent stretch of time for a healthy woman to labour and birth her baby. There really shouldn't be any need to rush or panic. Even in cases of precipitous (very fast) birth, I don't think it's an emergency. If it's going fast, it's usually going well, and it happens every day across the world to countless women, with or without medical assistance.

Is it all part of the huge mystery and scare tactics surrounding birth?

Opinions?

It just got me thinking reading questions today that I have heard from some women that you usually labor alot quicker in your 2nd, 3rd, ect... pregnancies then your 1st. In my 1st I labored for 23 hrs. I am 24 weeks now and guess if that theory stands true by opinions here at this sight. Do any mothers agree that there 2nd went quicker then there 1st??? I am curoius to know who may have had the shortest labor??

This is my second baby, and my first was all natural with no problems. This one is taking a bit longer and being a pain! lol

My doctor says she'll strip my membranes on Monday...anybody else had this done? What all is involved? Does it work? Does it hurt? My cervix is far back, and it's extremely painful just to get my cervix checked...does this mean it'll be painful? Any experience would be helpful!
