Ok so this is my friend who lives with the guy who also has a child that they had a shower for. She wants to throw it herself. I thought it was tacky...IF someone throws it then ok but why should you expect people to support the fact that you keep having children (although they are blessings). Shouldnt it be our choice of buying gifts? I know this sounds mean...HELP!!!

A friend's daughter was pregnant out of wedlock and the friend gave her daughter a shower. I went to it and brought a gift. A couple of years later she had a second child with a different father. I didn't give her a gift. I felt that once was enough. She later did marry the father... which is besides the point. She should have married first then had sex and a baby.

It is tacky to give yourself a baby shower married or not.

Unless your children are spaced over 5 years it's consider in poor taste to have another shower especially throwing your own and registering again. It's assumed you have kept most "big" items from your first.

Now, it's perfectly fine if someone wants to throw you an informal shower especially if it's a different sex than your first.

It has nothing to do with being married or not married.

Sure, whats different between the first and second? No one really cares about being married anymore. I dont think it will hurt to have a shower for your new baby. I wasnt married when I had my first daughter and I had 3 showers!

Good Luck

Yes, every child is important and deserves to have a baby shower. I am sure you need additional stuff for the second child but I am sure the memories of the second baby shower is just as important too.

Depends on how many years between children. My wife and I had a baby shower for our daughter, and she had one for her son who is 12. Some people might not appreciate you having a baby shower if you just had one for your first child.

Hell yes. It's the 21st century; married or not, you most definitely have a right to a baby shower. Plus, a baby shower is all about the baby, not just the parents necessarily.

if someone wants to throw you a shower, let them! Just dont throw it for yourself. Especailly if your 2nd child is different sex than the first! Have fun with it!

have a shower for all your kids. it helps out in the long run plus it's a good time to spend time with everyone else that comes. sometimes shows u who cares an who doesn't.

By all means -- YES!! It has NOTHING to do with being married -- if you had six children, you'd have at LEAST 6 baby showers......
