I just had my 20 week U/S and she said she's concerned about my placenta being too low to the cervix. Unfortanately I am not sure what this means or if I need to be concerned. Does anyone know anything about this?

Apart from "have a nap." I mean when that doesn't work...

(And, in my experience, "you'll feel better in the 2nd trimester" is working out to be a lie.)

My daughter in law is in hosp. and they are trying to stop her labor, but so far she is 6cm dilated and still having some contractions. She will have to have c-section as she is unable to deliver vaginally. The doctors are very concerned, and it looks as though the baby will probably be born within the next 48 hours.

My question is, what are the potential problems we are looking at with a 34 week baby? Prefer those in medical field or with practical experience to answer, I have read online information already.

i'm 35 weeks pregnant with my first child and my dr has been watching me the last couple of weeks for signs of preeclampsia. The last 2 days my left foot has been really swollen and very painful to walk on. I go back to the dr in the morning but any suggestions of how to get some relief before then? I've tried laying on my left side and keeping my feet propped up and so far neither of those has helped....

I'm due for my ultrasound in a couple days.... but the appointment I chose was a bad day. My husband wont be able to make it cause he was schedule to work since three of his co-workers have requested off. He wants me to reschedule the ultrasound so he can be there.. but I've been waiting for so long for this... This will be my first one and I will find out the sex of our child. SHOUL I WAIT for him or just go on and do it and have him look at the picture instead. I'm so excited to know...

im spotting one spot bright red yesterday, today reddish brown but little clumps, but only on wiping, doc says it is not af cause wrong texture? but also says my urine was negative so im not pregnant. im 14 dpo? wondering if theres any chance its implantation or if im definately not preggers like doc says even thou i had bad bad nausea this morning and fainted.

Iam 15 weeks along and since early yesterday I have had this dull pulsating pain way down in my lower left side. It comes and gos and is more anoying and unconfortable than painful. This is my fourth pregnancy and I know what ligaments and muscles feel like when there stretching and this does not feel anything like that. Has anyone else had this happen?

I'm planning on giving birth in an independent birth center where 50% of the babies born are in water births. (Prior to choosing this center, I hadn't specifically chosen a waterbirth but I think we'll just see where I am when crowning time comes...if I happen to be in the tub, so be it)

The tubs are quite large. About the size of a tall jacuzzi. You could stand in there and the water would be above your navel.

If while in labor, I choose to stay in the tub and birth in it, I'm really not sure what to wear. I think a t-shirt might be bulky and drive me nuts, but I think I'm too chubby for just a tank top or to go completely nude (I was about 20lbs overweight when I got pregnant).

NOT that I should care what I look like, but I just want to be as comfortable as possible and not self conscious.

Does anyone who has used a birthing tub have any comfortable dressing advice?

I had sex on February 24th and today is March 22nd. My symptoms have been:
Tender Breasts
Nausea randomly in the day
Stomach pains
Back pains
Side pains in the back and front almost like hot needles
Headaches
STomach aches and cramps
Hungerrrr
Period was due about on average 2 days ago.
I haven't been STRESSING exactly. I've been thinking about being pregnant, but i haven't been scared at all, i've been alright about it, i havent been stressing about being pregnant at all, i've been actually pretty relaxed for this week. what do you guys think? I took a test on tuesday and it said negative. i'm planning to take another test saturday morning. my real questions are could i possibly be pregnant, should i wait till saturday to take the test or wait a little longer? all answers are expected, thanks a bunch ladies!

Why does everyone think getting pregnant when you are around the ages of 15 cool???? I never could understand why people thought it was cool. I am 15 and 4 months pregnant and my 16 year old sister just had a baby. In fact I found out I was pregnant the day she went into labor. Why do teens want sex or have sex???? I think it is stupid even though I did but I realized I have ruined my life but I don't belive in abortion so I am sticking with it and my bf is totally here for me and so is his family and my family. And another question is how do I tell the school that I am pregnant my parents won't do it and my school has a policy that if you are pregnant then you are expelled when you hit 5 months so they don't have to worry about you having problems. It's not actually being expelled its just you have to leave school for the rest of the year btw.

I have a friend who just had a baby 3 months ago and the guy she had her baby with left her. we live in ny he moved away to atl. she has no way of getting in contact with him or anything.......now all I want to know is if that ever were to happen to me what information should I know. I know my boyfriends info but the one thing I dont know is his Social Security number......I have access to it but I always bypassed it because there was no need for me to know it. BUT now after what happened to my friend I want to be very very knowledgeable about what to do in the event this happens to me. I know it wont but hey at one point she thought the same way too. let me know what options I have if my child's father leaves and let me know what she should do in her situation. Does anyone know what are the options for birth control. My girlfriend don't want to take pills and am not forcing her to, but Sometimes we find ourselves in situations that I have to stop because of the risk of getting her pregnant. She says she is gonna gain a lot fo weight if she takes them and that it has side effects. But I need to find a good solution for birth control .. because there are many times that I dont have the rubber n we got to stop. HELP!!

I am 9 months pregnant and was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection. My OBGYN prescribed Nitrofurantoin which is also known as Macrobid. When picking up the prescription on the warning it clearly states "DO NOT use use this medication when near the end of pregnancy (38-42 weeks) or at the time of labor and delivery. Doing so may cause a certain blood disorder called hemolytic anemia in your baby." I called my Doctor and she said it's fine, everyone takes it while pregnant. I called the pharmacist and he said "DO NOT TAKE". How can two healthcare professionals be so contradictary when the issue is so important?

hi, okay I am 30 weeks pregnant and this is our 2nd child together. We aren't married only because of Insurance would be too expensive and we wouldn't be able to afford it as a married couple. Okay...sooooooo I have gained 30 lbs since the pregnancy. and my boyfriend (husband) hasn't had sex with me not once since we became pregnant. Even before that I had to tell him I was ovulating so we could have sex. He has no interest in me Whatsoever in a sexual way. Yes, we kiss each other goodmorning and goodnight...but nothing else. What should I do?? Being pregnant I am sooo very emotional about this. I have told him how I feel and he makes me believe that we are going to start having sex again but it Doesn't ever happen. Isn't it weird that my signifigant other doesn't want me sexually? And no, he isn't cheating on me.

I know frequent urination is normal during pregnancy, and that's fine.

I just live in a very dry climate, and I usually wake up in the night needing a sip of water because my mouth and throat are so dry...it was never a big deal before but now that the baby is pushing on the bladder, my sleep is getting very interrupted for a lot of bathroom trips!

Any suggestions?
