I'm not a doctor or nurse but I've been through 4 miscarriages. Everyone started with spotting @ 9 to 11 weeks. I'd rest and elevate legs and pray. But in the end it didn't help. My prayers are with your sister.

There could be something wrong but you should check with the dr. The color and how much and all of that goes into account to the reason and meaning behind it. There are many different reasons for this spotting. Sometimes your body is just going through changes and it is getting ready to be in a different state, especially as early as she is.

its not normal. Chances are either shes having a misscarriage or shes over working herself. Heres a question for you. Why are you asking a bunch of strangers on yahoo answers when your sister could be on the phone with the doctor getting expert advice?

it is possible but if it continues for another day and gets brighter red and gets heavier than call the doc and they may tell you to go to the er. but it is normal to spot sometimes. some woman continue getting their periods while they are pregnant and dont know they are pregnant because of it. just keep a close eye on her.

Listen to your body, in this case her body! Some bleeding is normal, but if this is her first child, she needs to follow up with her OB/GYN and drink lots of cranberry juice. She might even have a bladder infection. Call the doctor first!
