Hello everyone!! Ive just got back from my OB appointment. Im 13 weeks and was expecting a doppler to hear the heartbeat. Instead she gave me a scan so i could see the heartbeat and the baby!!! Im soooo excited I can;t stop looking at the pic, even tho to anyone else it is just a blob, to us it is the most wonderful pic we have ever seen!!! After i popped to the loo and when I came back, I caught my partner sniffly with a tear in his eye, transfixed by the pic. I was so touched by his reaction and wondered how other men react when they see their babies on a scan for the first time? I would be interested in your experiences

I was wondering if there is a website or a book that I can check daily to see what (approximatley of course) is happening with my baby?

I knew a girl who was pregnant in high school, everyday she came to class shed share with me wat was happening with her baby that day. I thought it would be something for me to look foward to instead of the once a week reading.

My sister said she had a book when she was pregnant (5 years ago) that told her what was happening each day, but cannot remember the name of it. She does remember that it had a spiral edge (if that helps at all). Does anyone know?

Ultrasound says he's measuring 1wk 6days bigger, they said he was 4pnds 6oz. but I definatly don't look like I could have something that size in me. Anyone have an ultrasound done around then? How accurate was it for you when you finally delivered?!

Every time I go in, a nurse takes my blood pressure, weighs me, listens to heart beat, and takes a urine sample. Then when the doctor comes in he says hi how're you doing, has me lay down, presses on my tummy (has never measured with a tape measure) and then says "you're doing great" then says he'll see me in another 2 weeks? How does he know when he's not taking measurements? He doesn't ask about symptoms or check for swelling, or anything else. Could this just be because I'm doing so good, or could he be missing something. I've also made him aware that I was a little worried about my size being too small for a baby that far along. But he says my measurements and ultrasoun (done at 31wks, he measured 1wk 6days bigger) were just fine and not to worry. But I certainly DON'T look like an 8 month pregnant woman. I look like 6 months. It is my 1st am I just worrying too much? Thanks!!!

I'm going to the Dr. on Friday, but wanted to see if any other pregnant woman experienced this shortness of breath while going up stairs or even having a spirited conversation.

Ever since my boyfriend found out I was pregnant, he wanted me to terminate, but he accepted, that I wasn't. About three days ago, we got into an argument, like always do , about dumb stuff, and he told me to go back to my mom's house, so I did. I haven't heard from him, he hasn't called me, not even to see how I'm doing, not even his mom, who I have support from , has called me. I think were really through this time? I need advice to stay strong.

I am 16 weeks pregnant and have felt the baby moving for about a week now. The doctor said that this was normal given that I am very thin. Just recently I have felt sharp pains close to my belly button. Nothing extremely painful but a little and bothersome. I do not know if this is the baby kicking or if this is something else. Help!

Two weeks ago, I was dilated to 3 cm, 80% effaced. Last week, still dilated to 3, but 90% effaced. This week, dilated to 4 cm, 90% effaced. Doc said effacement percentage won't change until I'm in labor. I had loose stools all day yesterday. I either lost or am losing mucus plug this morning. No real contractions at all whatsoever. Just feels like menstrual cramping, nothing intense or painful. I'm not miserable or uncomfortable, just ready to meet my little one.....should I be expecting labor soon???

I was wondering about this, you see I am about to pay child support to my ex and I have recieved the paperwork from the court. To my surprise on her side it shows 0.00 for total income, now I do not know if she is working or not, but is there a way she could get in trouble with the courts if she does not work to support the child? I find this unfair for me because I have enough bills as is and I do not need to take the full brunt all because of her lazy butt won't work.

Any advice or comments are welcomed in this matter

Im 34+2 Doc says baby should be able to make it to 36 weeks as long as I stay off my feet. Will 36 weeks be ok for the baby? What if I go at 35? I want him to be healthy and come home with me from the hospital. He is already (weight and hight) meauring 2 weeks ahead of schedual. Do you think he will be ok? A friend had a baby at 33+6 and he came home after 2 days and a cousin had her baby at 33 weeks and after 3 day watch for jaundice he came home.? My baby should be just fine around 35-36 weeks right? (I will try hard to keep him there till atleast 37 but if I can't does anyone have an encouraging words?)

I am in my 16th week of pregnancy. I had some complications during the early 4th month, so I had abdominal ultrasound already 5 times till now.
I heard from some friends that having ultrasound too many times is not good for the baby due to some rays being passed. Is this true ? any one who has correct information please share. In general how many times do they do ultrasound through out the pregnancy ?
