I only gained about 5 pounds until I was 6 months pregnant, then out of no where I BALLOONED. It was crazy. I didn't start eating differently, I guess my just decided that's when he wanted to get bigger. LOL. I was pretty lucky and only gained weight on my stomach.

If your doctor is not concerned then you should be fine. Most women don't really start putting on weight until the third trimester when the baby starts putting on it's layer of fat. It all depends on how little you are and whether morning sickness has been a problem or not. I didn't even look pregnant until I was about 5 or 6 months and now I'm all belly!

I don't think you should be concerned. I am 16 weeks and I have lost 6 pounds. I think it just depends on your size. If you are underweight already then you should be concerned but if you are normal weight then it should be fine. As long as you are eating atleast 3 meals a day then your baby is eating right along with you. My problem is that I don't have a huge appetite. I eat but i just eat alot of small meals during the day and I have been eating healthier.

That's normal, some women don't gain a lot of weight for their entire pregnancies. Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn medicine woman) stated that when she weighed more after her pregnancy than she did while she was pregnant and she was pregnant with twins. You'll start gaining weight in no time, it's still pretty early in the pregnancy. Good luck!

I'm actually 17 weeks pregnant also. I haven't put on any weight at all. I'm the same weight I was before I got pregnant. So yes, I suppose every woman is different.

When I became pregnant I actually lost weight in the first trimester due to morning sickness. Im now 32 weeks pregnant and have gained alot of weight (probably a bit much!) Your weight gain sounds normal and if there was anything to worry about your midwife would let you know.

Don't worry, it's perfectly normal. As long as you're eating healthy foods and taking your prenatal vitamins, it's gonna be ok. Also depends on your pre-pregnancy weight. If you were overweight, it's great that you didn't gain more. If you were underweight, though, you should start eating a bit more.
I don't know if you're smoking or not, but that prevents you from putting weight on too (not to mention other harmful effects).
If you're worried about your weight, you should discuss it with your doctor.
Congratulations and good luck!

If you are eating well, and are otherwise well, I would not be too concerned. You may be very slim, or have a fast metabolism, in which case you would be slow to gain weight anyway. My friend put on less than 14 pounds through her whole nine months and produced an eight pound boy. she is very slim and very active. Don't worry, it will fine.

im 5 months pregnant with my second child now and i've only gained 4 lbs. my doctor says i have plenty of time to put on the weight. with my first son i gained 35 lbs. My doctor said i should gain anywhere between 20 and 25 lbs. this time. As long as you and your baby our healthy everything should be alright. If your still concerned you should talk to your doctor.
Good luck and congrats!!!!

Good Lord Be Happy... I had very large babies(9lbs.) and above so needless to say I gained alot of weight. My first I gained 50 and my next I gained 60. And yes you are very right that every one is different. My oldest daughter only gained 10 lbs her first and 25 her second. The funny thing about that is the first one weighted more. Dont worry...Good luck
