I'm going to the Dr. on Friday, but wanted to see if any other pregnant woman experienced this shortness of breath while going up stairs or even having a spirited conversation.

Yes. Sorry, it gets worse too. As the baby and your uterus grow, other organs are pushed to different places... including up. This causes less space for your lungs and diaphragm. It will be better after the baby drops... more towards the end of your pregnancy.

You should check with your doctor but I have shortness of breathe a lot, it should be normal as long as you're not struggling terribly. Your body is using more oxygen to supply enough for you and your baby. It's normal.

I heard that's normal due to the increase of your hormones. I had the same thing, and was told it was normal, just as long as you're not gasping for air, and don't have any other weird symptoms. Wait until you get big and your uterus is pushing up into your diaphram!!! That's were I am now @ 33wks!!! Congratulations!!!

You might want to watch out, it could be high blood pressure, especially if this is your first pregnancy. My first, I was on bed rest the last trimester because of it. Talk to your doc!
