can constipation effect ones body to have a miscarriage... considering if your sitting on the toilet pushing...what if something unexpected comes out... instead? ( well obviously not out of your butt)

I have yet to become pregnant (not trying) but find the whole process quite interesting. I used to be extremely fearful of the "alien" or "parasite" one day growing inside of me but I think I've outgrown my fears. Now I'm just curious as to the little nuances you don't hear about so much. Please, ladies, write and tell me (good or bad) what they don't usually talk about in books; anything about pregnancy, labor, the afterbirth (literal and figurative), and anything that came as a surprise to you. I'm very early in my first pregnancy, about 3 weeks. I should be thrilled but I'm not. This wasn't a planned pregnancy but that shouldn't make any difference. Top it off with the fact that my husband hasn't slept since I told him. We are having a hard time adjusting to this concept. Anyone else had this happen? Am I eventually going to be happy with all this?

I recently was 4 months pregnant with identical twin boys, they had twin to twin transfusion issues, I underwent laser surgery July 3, 2006 to try and save both if not at least one. No luck I lost both babies in the same day. I can't quit crying my emotions are so screwed up. I want to start trying again as soon as possible I have a 5 year old daughter now. She was so disappointed. I still had to deliver them vaginally July 5, 2006. I seen both babies. They were so precious. They look healthy, 10 finger, toes, nose, ears etc. I was so devastated. So when is it to soon?

we have been trying to concieve, 3 days until my next period is due, and i am getting period symptoms but i have never had swollen breasts and i get a tummy ache waking me up @ night if im laying on my stomache. im not too excited or worrying (stressed) if im preg or not. but i took a preg test and it says im not preg. should i just assume im not or wait??

Ok, the first day of one's cycle is counted on the first day of the menstrual period, right? So, if my regular cycle is 28 days, and the first day of my last period was June 18, then my period should be expected on Saturday...

My doctor said I gained about 5 pounds of water weight in 2 weeks. My hands, feet, legs and face are looking pretty swolen. He advised me to try a low sodium diet, to help reduce the water retention. How long will it take to get rid of the water after the baby is born?

I am deathly afraid of needles. I always have been since I was a little girl. Rather it be a shot or giving blood, I FREAK out! The epidural is what I am most freaked out about in this whole pregnancy thing. I sat with a friend of mine when she got hers and I was the one panicking. Granted it was her 4th kid though. This is my first and I don't know what to expect. I am 29 weeks and scared to death. Someone told me when they got their epidural it hurt so bad and they felt like their leg was going to shoot off. Is it as bad as I am expecting?
