Not at all. We waited forever for my mother in law to help and to pay for things and she never did. Take it upon yourself or your baby will be born before your friends and family get it together for you. Tell them not to procrastinate on getting you and your baby stuff before 40 weeks is up : )

No, but why isn't anyone helping you? And do yu really want to invite people who don't care enough about helping to plan your shower? I'm sorry I can't help you! This should be your time to relax and have someone else take over. You're going to be busy enough when the baby comes.....I would volunteer someone (maybe your mom?) and then make sure they stick to it! Try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy without any added stress...Crack the whip and get your lame friends on the job!

I don't think its wrong...but the best way to do it is write down everything u want for your baby shower and hand the list to someone responsible enough to carry through with the plans.

I dont think its a good idea. Ask your mom to help out. I didnt get my shower until 3 weeks before my due date. Some people dont' get a shower until after their baby is born.
You never know, they might already have one planned for you that they dont want you to know about.

it's kind of tacky, yes. it's ok to have some input if they ask you for it, but it's not cool to plan it yourself.
