Pregnancy & Parenting - 31 December 2006

She was taken to the hospital yesterday because her water broke at 26 weeks. Her baby is only estimated to weigh only 1.8 lbs as of today. Her cervix is not at all dialated and she has had no labor pains. Anyone else gone through this?

Hello, my baby has recently been eating 4 to sometimes 5 ounces every 3-4 hours. I've tried giving him a pacifier to see if he takes interest, but he always just spits it out. He NEVER spits up, unless I put pressure on his tummy (i.e. lie him on his tummy over my shoulder, etc.) And he always gulps down his formula, but I still use stage 1 nipples. (He only bottle-feeds.) She gets it one day but then goes right back to pottying in her pullup for a while. I've tried showing her the ropes and showing her what type of panties she will get to wear if she does, but all this to no avail.

By the way, I'm 19 weeks pregnant. I could be lying down, and all of a sudden, it feels like my heart's trying to beat out of my chest. It doesn't hurt, or anything, though.

I guess I'm just wondering if this is something that happens in pregnancy... This never happened to me with my first, and with this one, I'm getting a virtual cornucopia of horrid symptoms.

I have gone through a divorce recently and I have three kids. My kids for the most part mind pretty well but my oldest is VERY stong willed and doesn't always mind. When I was married to his dad, his dad never disciplined him I always did so this has been an ongoing problem. He is 8 and my others are 2 and 3. The others mind pretty well and he is a very good kid but doesn't always listen and that has always been the case even before me and his dad divorced. I take away his playstation when he acts up....and spank him if he really acts up, is there anything else I can do?

my son is 11 months old. If your son or daughter is around this age...what childproofing have you done? We did the outlet covers....put a cat door on the bathroom door so we could close it and the 3 cats would still have easy access, cabinet and drawer latches and tomorrow childproofing our stone cofee table.

I have a stone coffee table with stone all around it expect on the edges, on the edges it's sharp. My son is 11 months old and has hurt the side of his face on this already. I am putting cornor guards on it tomorrow and i was thinking of getting a toddler sheild. A woman on yahoo answers recommened this. Has anyone heard of this product? what else would you recomened in covering the table? I am not going to get rid of the table. We eat on it and everything.

I know this is a stupid question but...

Will I be able to take anything with me to the hospital to have my baby... as far as books, magazines, CDs, or anything else to keep me calm? Will I even be able to concentrate on these while I'm in labor, or will it be so horrifyingly painful that I'll just lay there and wrythe in agony?

I know some hospitals have certain allowances in their birthing centers, and some don't. What basics do they provide?

I was gonna drop her off at my friends house so i can go out and party for New Years eve, now this! Im running late as it is. Will the baby be ok in the car overnight? Maybe if i called a tow truck they could come by and get her out and take care of her for me while im at the party!. What are your suggestions?

She does it as a joke. Her baby is 10 months old (i think). The dog just had pups3 weeks ago, she puts the pups elsewhere and puts the baby down at the moms boobs. It latches on and suckles. Is this normal? Is it harmful for the baby?

ok this may sound gross and I know what the plug is (losing it is how i knew i was in labor with my first child)
i'm now 23 weeks pg with my 4th and a few weeks ago the morning after sex when i wiped i had a large globby clear thing come out.
could it have been congealed sexual secreations or was it my plug? i hope it wasnt my plug as im no where near due yet.
(i havent had it before or since and ive had little to no bleeding)

My daughter is 26 months old. I am starting potty training ( I know she is pretty much ready) but she doesnt talk too much yet. She does know how to shake her head yes or no, but she doesnt get the total concept of when I am asking a question about if she needs to go potty... any ideas?

I have a stone coffee table and my 11 month old son took a hit on the side of his eye. I do not want to get rid of this table and do not have another table to put there so what can i cover it with so he does not hurt himself again!!!!
