Hello, my baby has recently been eating 4 to sometimes 5 ounces every 3-4 hours. I've tried giving him a pacifier to see if he takes interest, but he always just spits it out. He NEVER spits up, unless I put pressure on his tummy (i.e. lie him on his tummy over my shoulder, etc.) And he always gulps down his formula, but I still use stage 1 nipples. (He only bottle-feeds.) Thanks, and happy new year!

Um, talk to your doctor.
Make sure the nipple doesn't flow too fast( i know u said stage 1 but check just in case)
My first son did the exact thing though. At age 2 months, my doctor showed me how to mix a teaspoon of baby rice cereal to the formula to help fill my son up.
Are you feeding him when he crys or just giving him the bottle just because it is time?No worries, im not assuming anything...some baby's just eat allot. And some mothers are new and do what they are told.Like for example, my mother told me to wake my child and feed him so that i would have a happy....not crying baby. The doctor told me to feed him when he cried...so i listened to the doc..lol.But my son still gobbled it up like crazy. And then cried for more.lol that is when the rice cereal came into affect.
Just speak with your doc.
Most baby's double their body weight in just about the first 2 months. So it doesn't seem too crazy for him to eat that much.Your doctor may change his formula to a brand that has more vitamins.Your son maybe trying to tell you that he isn't getting enough of a certain vitamin.
Just make an appointment with your doc. Then try and relax, feed him what he demands until you see your doctor.

What ever you do, don't listen to hush... If your baby is hungry, feed him. At birth they are eating 1-2 oz a feeding, usually. Some even eat more than that. When my son was 1 month old he was eating 4 oz every 3-4 hours and I was giving him cereal by the time he was 2 1/2 months old because he would eat all the time and formula just wasn't filling him up anymore. He is now 8 years old, very healthy, very athletic, and is in just about every sport you can think of plus boyscouts! Keep up the good work!

You have a healthy happy baby! At one month as long as that baby isn't fussing from over eating or spitting up (not including when pressure on the tummy) let him eat till he is done. I was very concerned about my son. He never seemed full and ate so much. I finally stopped breastfeeding so i could measure how much he was eating. at 3 months my son was 18 lbs! The doctors told me that he is healthy and once he starts moving he will lose a lot of weight but for now give him what he wants. He is now 5 months and has slowed down on the weight gain but he moves a lot too! Ask your pediatrician but I am sure that baby is just a hungry boy!

hello, i have two daughters and my first was not a very good eater.. but with my second who is now 6mths, was having maybe a 200ml bottle every two hours!! my mother in law said something was wrong , but we saw two doctors and they said if she wants it give it to her!! they said a huge percentage of babies dont get enough from their recommended daily bottles...with the stage 1 nipples, we tried many different ones but have also stayed with the stage 1 nipples as they seem to allow our daughter to drink at her own pace...(also applied to our now 3 yr old.) we also started her on baby food for 4mts when she was 2 1/2 mths and now she has a great regular feeding time.. at her six mths shots the doctor said she was a perfect weight and very happy and healthy..
good luck

Sounds like my son. Our pediatrician and our son's GI (stomach doctor) told us that he should have 3 oz of formula for every pound he weighs. We weren't giving him enough and when we increased it, he was ok. He still ate like a pig, and until we changed his formula (a couple of weeks ago) he still ate every three hours. I would check his weight and see how much formula you are giving him and make sure it is enough, or if your just making yourself crazy over nothing. I know we were, but it was normal.

If your worried call his doctor. Babies eat that's how they grow if he were overeating he would be throwing up. My little girl always ate like she had a hollow leg and she still does and she's a very active normal weight 2 year old

It relies upon on how the kitten became stated and the way it relatively is used to ingesting. If the kitten has continually had foodstuff obtainable to it each and every time it pleases, it is going to eat whilst it is hungry and quit whilst it is comprehensive. it won't overeat. it is how maximum breeders feed their cats. If the kitten has continually been given the suitable quantity of foodstuff interior the morning and night (and does not have get admission to to foodstuff for the time of the day) then there's a threat it is going to overeat if too plenty foodstuff is disregarded. It thoroughly relies upon on how they have been stated. Your kitten remains especially youthful so i think of you ought to be able to feed it the two way and it will get used to it. i think of it relatively is extra helpful to easily bypass away foodstuff out and then they are able to eat whilst they are hungry. it is the main organic way.

The feeds are ok but do try and give him some water too.
Many a times , new mothers mistake the babys 'thirst ' for 'hunger'.
The water consumption will help him in passing his stools too ,thus preventing constipation and gas formation in babies.
Gd luck & happy new year to u too.

No....my son weighed 9 lbs when he was born. He statred on 8 oz by week two. He was't sleeping good and always seemed hungry. He just was not getting enough to eat so his doctor told me to feed him as much as he would take. How much did your baby weigh at birth?
