it could have been either one. losing your mucous plug doesnt mean that you're waters will leak. your waters leak when the amniotic sac braks, the plug just protects the opening of ther cervix. typically, women lost the plug 6-8 weeks before they ever go into labor, but thats not all the time. you can lose it before then, or you may not even notice losing it at all. i'm 5 days overdue now, and i lost my plug back when i was only 28 weeks. i had been in the hospital for a kidney stone, and lost my plug. my ob confirmed that that was what it was. losing it early is nothing to worry about. it doesnt mean you'll go into labor preterm or anything. just keep an eye and things and let your dr know. i'm sure everything will be just fine. good luck and congrats!

Without a doubt, have your OBGYN check your cervix next visit.
It may have been a piece of your plug, but keep i mind; the mucous plug continually regenerates. The vagina can actually "hang on" to sperm for more than 24 hours. It has to do with whether your uterus is tilted, or simply- how YOU as an individual are "constructed" internally. Some women have more or less space around the cervix...If you are nowhere near, don't worry about it. Makes sure to tell your dc, and just ask them to check for dilation to be safe.
Good luck! You'll be 'ight! I am a mommy of four also!
God BLESS YOU and your unborn gift from GOD! <><

From what it sounds like it probably was secretions from sex as well as from your own discharge. They say it is normal to have an increase in vaginal discharge during pregnancy.
If it was your mucus plug they say that it doesnt mean you will be going into labor soon so I wouldn'y worry if I was you. Ask your OB @ your next visit if it makes you feel better. Good luck to you

Large globs or stringy globs can occur. Imagine them as large as a plate of spaghetti! Change your underwear often. The mucus plug is tacky.

I doubt it was your plug. It sounds like something from the night before.

Definitely not your mucous plug. Probably from all the hormone changing going on.

It could be your plug, or it could just be your own discharge. Either way I'd call your OBGYN ASAP to see if they want to see you. You don't want to wait and have it be something more serious than you think it is. Better to be safe than sorry.

When the plug comes out your amniotic fluid starts leaking out.
