Did anyone watch the PBS program about labor and wages in China?
Women (typically) work 13 hrs/day 7 days a week for $120/month making products for export.
Usually they have a production life of 10-15 years until their bodies give out from this schedule.
Of the population of China over 1 BILLION of them live in poverty and an estimated 20 million others live affluently.
How is exporting U.S. labor to countries like China good for the U.S. or those other countries?
Wouldn't you be willing to pay a couple dollars more if you had to to keep things "Made in America"??????
How are all of the millions of the people in the U.S. who HAD those labor jobs now supporting themselves?

It sure seems that way.

The Dems had been blocking his funding for Iraq. The Dems finally saw the light and helped pass the bill pretty much in a landslide --- 80 to 14.

Dems seem to be lining up and listening to Mr. Bush.

VICTORY: You Defeated Amnesty, Cloture Failed

CONGRATULATIONS! You did it!

The Senate just voted 45 to 50 against invoking cloture on S. 1348. Senator Reid has pulled the bill from the floor for now.

You all have done an outstanding job this week and throughout today. You never gave up!

We will be coming to you with the final roll call tally, and a detailed analysis of who voted how and what is next to come, but I wanted to get this to you as soon as possible.

Thank you.

I am sure there are many average citizens who strive to be upstanding decent "God" fearing people........aren't there those of you who are tired of your leaders being hypocrites in reality?

I know that I am just as dissappointed in the Democrat leaders who conduct themselves inappropriately!

if a crazy socialist terrorist-loving hippie democrat is elected in 08, will the liberals then start to become pro-american again? Will they wave American flags instead of burning them, will they talk about how awesome america is now that it is socialist again? Will they talk about how awesome the economy is 2 days after the democrat takes office? I think they will. Nothing is sacred to liberals. They will do whatever it takes to get power, and if that means risking the lives of my family by ignoring terrorist threats, or increasing taxes to pay for the votes they bought by promising tons of social programs to the poor...then that is just what they will do. Liberals care about power, their hippie ideals come a very distant second. God is about 238th on the list of things liberals care about.

I will not vote for McCain for dog catcher. If he gets my party's nomination, I am voting a third party. Will everyone that was against amnesty (Republican and Democrat) do the same. If so, Barak Obama, Hillary Clinton and McCain should all get new jobs.

we had mitt romney here in MA and have known since he arrived that we were nothing but a stepping stone to wash for him. he's not impressive to most but, unfortunately, he's a handsome man and can look the part. please do not let any of this fool you.

it seems people outside NY will always relate Rudy to 9/11 but i do remember all of the issues he was dealing with prior to that year and some of them made him look pretty bad. i watched the debate in NH and many said he "won", that he was the most impressive. i would never vote for him, (i'm a democrat) but i'm just curious to hear some new yorker's opinions of his politics. i know he's had an active personal life, don't care about that.

He been saying a lot of crazy things and appears to be trying too hard to cater to too many special interest groups. Can't give him my vote.

Do you vote for a candidate because he/she is a Republican or a Democrat? Or do you vote for a candidate that you believe would do the best for our country? Has anyone ever voted for a candidate outside their registered party?

There is no doubt in my mind that the weapons industry will be very glad for any kind of deal to create more weapons. Of course if you're going to have more weapons then you are going to need more customers to buy them. And of course if there are no wars then there are probably no need for weapons. We need our troops at home guarding our borders and not out fighting some war which will make some weapons industry executive filthy rich......

The Rev. Al Sharpton denounced Paris Hilton's release from jail on Thursday, saying it had "all of the appearances of economic and racial favoritism."

I hate to say it, but I might agree, with at least this part of his statement.
