The seven Republican In Name Only (RINO) senators that voted in favor of cloture, which would have moved this horrid bill to a vote are; Graham (R-SC), Hagel (R-NE), Lugar (R-IN), Martinez (R-FL), McCain (R-AZ), Specter (R-PA) and Voinovich (R-OH). Two of these RINOs (Graham and Hagel) are up for re-election next year and may face stiff primary challenges. Let's see if the old expression holds true and hope that elephants don't forget!

That is good news. Many people on both ends of the argument only choose to see portions of the problem they perceive. Those who just want to shove them all off to Mexico, fail to look at the fact that most illegals are aided by American citizens the Law they say is broken could not have been broken if these Illegals were not aided by corrupt or corruptible citizens of this country. Those who say they should stay regardless cite the protection the Law in America provides and yada yada, but over look the fact that laws were broken even completely trampled and willfully ignored for them to get this far. Over all though my stance is simply that the Law should be observed with the same hand that guarantees the Liberties and sees to it that they are provided to us in America. Those who cannot abide by the law, should not use it as a shield. That is selective thinking wherein you use hollow intellect and words you obviously don't believe to advocate your own self-serving bias and push it on others. That is ignorance in it's most highest form. Those that have helped Illegals performs illegal acts, or shielded them from the consequences of it, are also guilty and need to prosecuted as the criminals they are. If you can work, maintain a home, drive a vehicle, migrate hundreds of miles north, and fly under the radar for years on end all at the same time, you are not an idiot, and therefore not incapable of filling out the forms needed for your citizenship. It stands to reason that you have consciously avoided all this, so you too are a criminal by all essential definitions, but since you are not in our jurisdiction technically, you need to go back home. End of story, the Law is the Law and should be enforced as such,. not a wishy-washy set of texts we can over look when it pleases us to do so.

I'm surprised at how many people really thought this bill would pass . I knew it never would and I knew this was a political move by the whitehouse to inflame Americans and bring this issue to the forefront . President Bush never had any intention of signing it , because he knew it would never make it to him .
Now , look for 1 of the Republican candidates to jump on this issue and run on a platform of strict immigration control . My guess is perhaps Fred Thompson will be the guy to use it to catapult ahead of the others . . . . time will tell !!

That is great news.
I wonder how much influence this issue had on the turnover of Congress last year? It is a shame that otherwise intelligent Senators like LIndsay Graham were so stupid as to commit political suicide over this issue.
