First you need to do a little homework, there are many reasons CONGRESS authorized the use of force, and even though most of the Democrats in the Senate and House are on record as stating unequivocally that WMDs were there and hussein needed to be stopped, that is not the primary reason.

read this and then come back after you have a better understanding of the real reasons.

Lets see......
WMDs that Saddam used against the Kurds
WMDs that Saddam used against Iran in their 8 year war
the yellowcake that Iraq DID try to obtain from Niger, (as reported in Joe Wilson's book by the way)
WMDs that Dem leaders said were there long before President Bush was in office
or the WMDs that Clinton used as an excuse to bomb Iraq?

Why don't you grow up, loosen the tin foil hat and do some REAL research before you spout useless dribble

We were GIVEN incorrect information on the WMDs. At the time, we honestly believed that there were WMDs, so technically nobody lied. And remember that MANY Democrats voted right alongside the Republicans regarding the issue. So your question should really be directed at BOTH main political parties.

1. You mean the same WMD's that the Clinton administration said existed in Iraq?

2. We didn't go to war over WMD's. We went to war because we didn't know, and a dictator who had already displayed his willingness to invade his neighbors did not abide by a treaty that he had signed with us calling for unfettered access for inspections.

The question should be, why would our government send our troops to war without reading all the intelligence reports? Why would they start a war without understanding the enemy?America should not spread democracy by preemptive strikes.
Now they want to pass a amnesty bill they admit is flawed. Get it right first then vote. Ignorance is no excuse.

So why did we go to war in Iraq?

Let's hear what the "conspiracy of the month is"?

If you haven't heard any good ones, why don't you make up some good ones, the media will probably report them as fact. Afterall you have Dan Rather, Rosie O' Donnell, Keith Oberman and Michael Moore to report the facts.

By the way why haven't fuel prices gone down, since the Dems took the house and senate? I guess your peeps are too busy ordering freezers to stash money in, considering more of your dems have in big oil.

It is a decision of pragmatism and logic. If we fail to secure Iraq then Iran will sweep in and take over. This will cause the Oil market to spiral out of control, as Iran will threaten other nations such as Saudi Arabia and Israel.

Would your lack of vision be worthy of 6 dollar a gallon gasoline and a crash in the stockmarket? If so, then you are clearly irresponsible.

We thought they had WMDs just like everyone else. The primary reason that we went over there was Sadaam's failure to live up to the cease fire agreement he signed after the Gulf War. Th at and his ignoring 17 UN resolutions ordering him to allow the weapons inspectors. What short memories we have.

They'll deny it long enough to reap they oil profits and brainwash their minions into believing that Iraq was really a threat. Once people wake up to this Bush would have already left office and Cheney would have cashed in his Haliburton options.
