In one week, more than 80 million Americans will go to the polls, and a record number of them--90%--will either cast their vote on a computer or have it tabulated that way.

Only 27 states have built in a backup that requires electronic voting machines to provide an attached voter-verified paper trail--a running ticker that allows voters to see on paper that their votes are recorded as cast.

Do you trust the machines?

What do you think of when you hear an enourmously absurd death toll? Do you believe it without breaking it down? Ok, 650,000 civilian Iraqi casualties, well that is about 1 every 3 minutes, does that sound realistic? Ok, where are those casulties coming from? Bombs, gun shot wounds, cancer, old age, diseases? Just remember, 75% of all statistics are made up. Have a nice night :D

If 90 percent of the wealth is owned by 10 percent of the people, then 90 percent of the people should not be assocaited with the Republican party. So why in the world are they in charge of Congress and why is G.W. in the White House? Those of us in the 90% "poor and middle class" should have control with our votes. If we did, money would not be the big factor for winning elections.

President Bush has signed into law a provision which will actually encourage the President to declare federal martial law. It does so by revising the Insurrection Act, a set of laws that limits the President's ability to deploy troops within the United States. The Insurrection Act (10 U.S.C.331 -335) has historically, along with the Posse Comitatus Act (18 U.S.C.1385), helped to enforce strict prohibitions on military involvement in domestic law enforcement. With one cloaked swipe of his pen, Bush killed those prohibitions.

Public Law 109-364, "Defense Authorization Act of 2007" (H.R.5122) which was signed by the commander in chief on October 17th, 2006, in a private Oval Office ceremony, allows the President to declare a "public emergency" and station troops anywhere in America and take control of state-based National Guard units without the consent of the governor or local authorities, in order to "suppress public disorder."

After about three months in Yahoo Answers, I finally realized today that:

Arrogance and intelligence are mutually exclusive.

I think this is both true and profound. So what do I do now?

Why do seemingly intelligent people allow party affiliation to blind them to the facts? After the comment by John Kerry can anyone doubt he hates the Military?

Is Hanoi John brilliantly playing the liberal media for all it is worth? Or has he unwittingly spun himself into a web of deceit they can not get out of? What is Karl Rove thinking?

Which is more insulting, Kerry's flat out statement that the military is the last resort for those who fail at higher education or his outrage that nobody believes his attempt at remaking his statement into a shot at the president ??

I have to admit to been greatly amused by the president's latest allegations against John Kerry. Does he actually believe that people are going to buy his take on John Kerry's remarks? John Kerry is a professional politician and he certainly would not alienate the electorate by insulting veterans as it would be political suicide. I guess President Bush is really worried about this coming election but I am surprised that his aides did not advise him against making an issue about this. This is going to blow up in his face...big time.

Anyone forget that Bush already beat Kerry?

Should we extend term limits to 3 terms so Bush can run a third time? Every time Bush wins something somewhere he's obsessed with fighting it on and on and on, until victory certainly doesn't look like victory anymore.

Iraq.
John F Kerry.

Anything else we can send bush in to win? Then re-battle. And re-battle.
Anyone else tired of Bush's obsession with the man he defeated?

"It disgusts me that a bunch of these Republican hacks who've never worn the uniform of our country are willing to lie about those who did." -- John Kerry
