Only 27 states have built in a backup that requires electronic voting machines to provide an attached voter-verified paper trail--a running ticker that allows voters to see on paper that their votes are recorded as cast.

No I don't trust the machines. Especially since the man in power right now would do anything to have repubicans back in. He's proven throughout his entire presidency that he's willing to do anything, even illegal, to have his way.

Early voting. Used one for the first time. Can't imagine this being any less trustworthy than paper ballots. There have always been stories about ballots not being counted (both Dem & Repub). I guess eventually we'll be hearing about computer crashes and glitches.

Someone put a link up yesterday and claimed 17% of the machines were made by a Venezualan company.

No I sure don`t trust the voting machines. I still believe that they rigged the machines and thats how Bush won the last election!!

Why is it that this is an issue that never gets seriously dealt with? After the debacle of the Gore/Bush election in Florida, you would think that the federal government would have stepped up and made sure that US elections are safe from fraud and misinterpretation.

Only if Democrats win. If they don't, than it's Diebold's fault. Dems are just mad because it's hard for the dead to use the machines.
