Republicans do not hate poor and middle class people. The democrats are not getting out their money and giving it to support the poor and middle class people. Maybe George Bush has made some mistakes, but they are not catastrophic ones. The media and the minority leaders are just trying to make you believe that so the democrats can gain control of congress and possibly the white house. They are brainwashing many people! We do have control with our votes. The big city rich people just have more control because a lot of people think city people know more. What a huge lie! Some city people are smart and others have no idea what the are talking about. President Bush tries to do all that he can. Every president makes promises but they normally can't keep them.

The Republicans help the poor middle class by helping small business, and lowering taxes and in many other ways.
The biggest Democrats are among the wealthiest people in America. Ted Kennedy doesn't even pay taxes on his wealth because he sends it all to off shore bank accounts in the Cayman Islands. No wonder he wants to raise taxes so much. Maybe he wants you to pay his taxes for him? And how about Hillary Clinton? She and Bill keep all their money they stole from the American people while they were in the oval office murdering people and having sex with interns, in a Swiss Bank account. Why? So they don't have to pay taxes either. They just want us middle class hard working Americans to pay more to make up for it. How about Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi, last I heard they were filthy rich, too and evading taxes by exploiting their positions as public servants to get richer. How about John Kerry? He married a filthy rich widow, became an instant Billionaire, then decides he is so rich he can afford to insult our brave troupes who are protecting us from Terrorists. Could it be that they, too are among the poor middle class? I would not be surprised if Kerry shoots the breeze with Ted Kennedy whenever he goes to the Caymans to get his tax free money out and runs into Hilory or Bill whenever he visits his secret Swiss Bank account. I could o on and on.
NOW, wouldn't you say your precious Democrats who are oh so noble have a blatant contempt for us poor middle class?

I think you facts are little off. The numbers that you quoted are definitely wrong. If you'd like to contest that, please quote a source.
Here's a fact for you directly from the IRS:
The Top 50% of wage earners pay 96.54% of All Income Taxes
The Top 1% Pay More Than a Third: 34.27%
Those numbers have gone up since George Bush has been in office, meaning the rich are paying more and more of the taxes. I'd classify myself as lower middle class and while I don't agree with everything President Bush has done, I know that I've had more of my money in my pocket since he's been in office and that's a fact.
Republicans just want people to take personal fiscal responsibility for themselves and their well being. The government should be involved as little as possible in how much money you have and how you spend it! The less money the government has, the better because they waste it!

When you add together the nationalistic flag wavers, the evangelical christians, and the free trade capitalists, you have almost enough to swing the vote to republicans, but not quite. They usually need a little extra push to get them into a bare majority. Recently that has been by fear. But it's changed now, and if a presidential election were held today it's pretty certain the democrat candidate would win - all other things being equal.

fact: 1% of the population has all the money. Actors and Actresses, Football Players, Basketball Players and baseball players make up this one percent. You cannot tell me they are all republicans. You state things that are false and you would do well to get the statistical facts straight to frame your argument. As I am in the 'middle class and 'poor' I would in no way vote for a democrat. Why? Because I want the american dream and hope some day I am in the 1% and know that if I let the Dem's screw it up it won't be worth it when I get it...

How about the upper 5% of wage earners pay 45% of the taxes in the US. The upper 10% pay 65% of the taxes in the US. In other words they pay for the programs that help the poor. Maybe we should have a flat tax where everyone and every company pays 15% of their wages. No tax breaks for anyone, no earned income credit, cut out foreign aid, put such high tarrifs on US companies that go over seas for cheap labor that they cannot afford to bring their products back into the US.

So how long have you had your head in the sand? I am a middle class citizen who works hard for every penny I earn - with an emphasis on "earn." I vote a straight Republican ticket because I am sick of the bleeding-hearts Democrats taking a huge chunk of my paycheck to pay those bums who only come out on election day to lift their hand to pull a lever to vote for whatever Democrat promises them more of my money that they didn't earn. Those Republicans in office are there because hard working people like me put them there.

But so many people are seduced by money and power once they come into office. Even poor and middle class people. Especially in congress, where they focus more on staying in power than doing the right thing. Thats why we need to have term limits for them!

because they tell them "if you work hard, you will be rich one day" and they believe it...
about 80 percent of those poor people work harder than the 10 percent of the wealthy... yet most stay poor... weird?
and yes, the rich do pay most of the taxes... but they also earn most of the money...
Patrick: how are they paying more with huge tax cuts on investment revenues that bush has put into place and just basic tax cuts?
maybe you can explain what you're saying...
