WHY IS BUSH HAVING PROBLEMS RECRUITING NOW FOR HIS WAR IN IRAQ?

I served in the Navy for 20 years, 10 of those in Japan. From what I know of the country during World War II, it seems we are fighting the same spiritual mentality, that glassy eyed stowic ability to sacrifice life for a God personage and a religious divotion. The only way to defeat Islamic fascism is by the same brutal force used to defeat Japan. Do you agree?

Republicans wave flags, claim they love their nation, etc.

BUT when it comes to paying taxes....well that's another story.

I thought good citizens always paid taxes without endless complaining? Not if your a Republican though!

GWB keeps telling us that we were attacked because "they" hate our freedoms. Then why do we keep giving them up so easily?

“They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety," Ben Franklin.

“This is how a nation loses its moral compass, its identity, its freedom.” Rep Jerrold Nadler (D-NY)

How did things get this bad? The “Military Commissions Act” which passed the Republican-led Congress yesterday is a bigger blow to the Constitution and our core values than any piece of legislation in our 200 year history. It is 100 times worse than Bin Laden's crimes on 9-11.

I think it has. They think they have SUPPORT over here.
Look at what Hugo Chavez did.
Why can't you just support the USA in a time of war by NOT bashing it's administration on WAR policies...which by the way I agree with.
EVERYONE wants our troops home - we differ on WHEN and HOW to bring them home.

FM 3-19.40 plans were created weeks before 9/11/01 and were signed INTO ORDER weeks after 9/11/01

By Order of the Secretary of the Army:
ERIC K. SHINSEKI General, United States Army
Chief of Staff Joel B Hudson Administrative Assistant Secretary of the Army

HERE IS THE ACTUAL (FM 3-19.40)
I find chapter 5 and 6 particularly disturbing.

It is also available on the UNITED STATES ARMY website in PDF format@

http://www.army.mil/usapa/doctrine/Active_FM.html

On the army website it is not easy to find(for obvious reasons) its 1/6th the way down the page entitled MILITARY POLICE INTERNMENT/RESETTLEMENT OPERATIONS DATED 08/01/2001

Some of the Republicans here tend to believe that Iraq CAN'T RUN THEIR OWN NATION!!

That is nuts! the Iraqis have ran their own nation for more than 1000 years! AND they didn't need out help.

If the US pulled out, Iraqis would are perfectly capable of running their own nation. If someone occupied america, we'd be very angry too.

Lets ask Homeland Security chief Tom Ridge

http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2005-05-10-ridge-alerts_x.htm

USA TODAY
Homeland Security chief Tom Ridge said that he often disagreed with ADMINISTRATION OFFICIALS who wanted to elevate the threat level to orange, or "high" risk of terrorist attack, but was overruled.

"More often than not we were the least inclined to raise it," Ridge told reporters. "Sometimes we disagreed with the intelligence assessment. Sometimes we thought even if the intelligence was good, you don't necessarily put the country on (alert). ... There were times when some people were really aggressive about raising it, and we said, 'For that?' "

Ridge said he wanted to "debunk the myth" that his agency was responsible for repeatedly raising the alert under a color-coded system he unveiled in 2002.

Ergo, the Bush administration was manipulating the alerts from the mouth of Tom Ridge HOMELAND SECURITY CHIEF.

What are the chances it happens again?
