Republicans wave flags, claim they love their nation, etc.

BUT when it comes to paying taxes....well that's another story.

I thought good citizens always paid taxes without endless complaining? Not if your a Republican though!

Republicans don't complain about paying any taxes, just high taxes. I don't like funding all these liberal government programs that I don't believe in. The government should carefully consider how they spend our money and cut back that spending before they raise taxes. I am a proud Republican, and I am NOT greedy. My family gives significantly to church and charities, and statistics show more conservatives give money to charities than liberals. I think the assumption by some of those answering that Republicans are greedy makes them seem incredibly judgmental and just plain wrong.

You make two false assumptions.

First, that complaining/criticizing and patriotism are mutually exclusive. As a liberal, you should know better than that.

Second, that taxes are good for the nation. Perhaps Republicans believe that high taxes are NOT good for the country, and thus are acting in a patriotic way by opposing them.

Golly...what a clever question. Is it your misguided belief that Democrats, Independents and non-registered Americans do not and never have complained about paying taxes?

And you? Never once have you complained about paying taxes? Wait..that's a rhetorical question. And your Democratic liberal buddies...
they sing praises to the IRS and pay their taxes as soon as the W2 arrives NLT January 1st of each year. Yeah, right.

Man, you are really stretching to bash Republicans in any way you can think of. Next time try to think your question through for its obvious defects and then if possible ask a truly thought provoking question.

Complaining about paying taxes is America's 2nd favorite pass time. Get over it and pay your taxes like the rest of us.

I accept as true with the asker, yet I in simple terms needed to point some thing out....i admire Benjamin Franklin. He became into between the superb American minds of all time. i admire lots of his expenditures, yet his quote concerning to taxes is now not valid. there is not any way that Benjamin Franklin would have conceived the expenditures that the yankee government has to pay right this moment. because of the fact expenditures have been so small interior the 1700's his quote became into valid then. maximum great cities did not also have a police tension then. the international has replaced, and tax coverage has to alter with it. you would be a republican and if it is so, how approximately this Frankin quote (which continues to be valid right this moment): "people who might supply up needed Liberty, to purchase slightly short-term risk-free practices, deserve neither Liberty nor risk-free practices." have you ever heard of the Patriot Act? We gave up a great style of liberties for little or no risk-free practices.

This Republican does not complain about paying taxes. I am tired of seeing people that do NOT pay taxes receiving never ending welfare benefits. If you don’t pay into the system, you are not entitled to the benefits. If they want to cut off welfare and beef up the military, I will stop complaining.

Tounge-in-cheek answer: Because we know that you'll just want to spend it on gay marriages, abortions and welfare.

No, seriously though. There's a lot of us who are registered R because we find more inspiration in the words of Adam Smith than we do in the words of Billy Graham. And that's why we don't like taxes.

One of the big ideas of conservativism is to reduce taxes and let individual consumers, rather than the government drive the economy. Naturally, doing something against one's personal beliefs would cause one to complain.

Great question!! But why do middle class people vote for them & think the greed of some of them will actually help them?

I think that the richest among us need to pay back a society that gave them so many opportunities...are they the predators?

Repuglicans are greedy to the last one. My question to you is why they do not mind spending 10 billion a month to support the illegal and corrupt war in Iraq. But 45 million Americans do not have access to health care? Is this part of their patriotism?

Republicans are rich, greedy, and basically spoiled brats. They like to throw their opinions around. They are racist. They don't care about anyone but themselves and their comfort level. Yet, they control political office and force others to do without - no jobs, no welfare, no abortion, and high gas prices.
