Reality of Jehad
One of the biggest misconceptions prevails with the regard to the duty Jihad in Islam. Unfortunately not only European scholars but also some Muslims scholars misuse this term. Actually the word Jihad of Arabic is divied from Jahd which means ability, excretion or power.

Jihad can be undertaken in following kinds:
1) against a visible enemy of Islam
2) against the devil
3) against self.

Discussing the first kind of jihad, jihad against a visible enemy of Islam means a person or more who stand against the preaching of Islam or who tries to hares the all ready Muslim. Such people should be first stopped verbally but if they do not agree then only Islam gives permission of usage of force.
Against the devil means to stop not only others but also ones own self from doing unislamic deeds. While against self is to restrict ones self to the saying of Allah and his prophet Muhammad and as much as possible try to stay away from the materialism.

IF you read many of the posts you'll find many vague and baseless statements. I've yet to read anything profound from anyone. Could it be that people compensate for their poor intellectuality by compensating with sophistic rants typical of most Americans?

How come after the Rep. Admin. failure in Iraq, they can use as scare tactic that failure in Iraq would be devastating for our nation?

Devastating to our nation is what they created and want to continue. How much worst can it be?
What is the goal in Iraq? If they think assimilation is the goal can you imagine how long that war would be. They must be drinking moonshine if they think Iraqis will be assimilated.
THE GOAL WAS SADDAM AND WMDs, NONE OF IT PRESENT IN IRAQ NOW. CALL THAT A WIN AND BRING EVERYBODY BACK HOME. IF A PROBLEM COMES AS A RESULT THEN WE WILL DEAL WITH IT.

For those declaring that they support the wars because we have not been attacked since it started, you need to educate yourselves.

First of all, before the war, there was no way in hell that Iraq was a threat to us, or any country. Now, terrorists are so uncontained running wild everywhere, and preoccupied with sectarian violence, that they don't want to even bother planning an attack on America. That should tell you right there that leaving Iraq would not be a bad strategy.

Secondly, stop bragging about the war. The truth is that no terrorists have ever even planned on attacking our homeland again, and that is the reason we have not been attacked yet.

Lastly, if we pulled out of Iraq and by some impossible task the terrorists were able to regroup enough to plan an attack on the USA, don't you think our Intelligence could protect us? Or do repubs think the Bush Administration is too incompetent to protect us? Aren't dems the ones who call the Bush Administration incompetent?

Considering Bosnia, was Clinton a better war president?
George H.W. Bush was a better war president too in my opinion. During wartime and peacetimes, both presidents had far less scandals and far less failures than our current president.

I found a article on MSN about the middle class that expressed the way I have been feeling lately....Here is a snippit :

One family feeling the pinch is the Andrew Miller family in Charleston, S.C. With a combined income of just less than $100,000 a year, Miller and his wife say they work harder than ever but are no better off than five years ago. They keep a tight rein on spending, but tiny raises that don't match inflation and escalating health costs are leaving them feeling like they are treading water.

This is like my situation...Every time I get a raise ...Taxes go up to " Pay for Schools"...Gas his $2 a gallon...The Insurance Co. will adjust rates because they can and please don't let it be a cold winter or the gas company will smell blood... Make it stop. America was not formed to only help the extreme rich or Dirt poor...Thats where we are at though

Or will they stay on this fake "Neoconservative" platform of HUGE spending, big brother government, huge deficits, and forcing all in the party to agree on everything, while hanging the conservatives who disagree out to dry? I would sure like vote GOP in 08. But the Dems get my vote unless the party comes up with a REAL conservative!

On the first full day of the new Congress, US Representative Carolyn McCarthy (D-Garden City) introduced a measure that would force states to comply with an automated system that does background checks on those attempting to keep guns out of the hands of convicted felons and others. While there are some who are calling it "the first major anti-gun bill" of the Democrat-controlled Congress, and a threat to Second Amendment rights, McCarthy and others claim that the measure is simply a way to bring the nation up to speed on a system authorized and already in place.

He don't have any authority to comment about honorable president.
