I completely forgot I had an unpaid speeding ticket to attend to but I'm also supposed to be heading out of the country in six weeks. I was going to use the expedited process to attain a passport but now I'm more curious if they'll come up with that infraction during their background check. Or is it that hte background check is only criminal/federal offenses?

The politicans today really are all pompous individuals too caught up with special interests and lobbying to be a fair representation of the "average" American.

We need more accurate representation.
Any ideas?

- My values are conservative...I think many folks are lazy because gov't paints the picture that there's too much bigotry to succeed (there's not).

- I am an atheist (but not an anti-theist)...I don't believe the country is a "judeo-christian country" because the founding fathers were judeo-christian any more than the bookshelf I made is a "black and deckar bookshelf".

- I love American's values (Liberty first, equality second) but I don't like how government operates (unwilling to say "no"...take care of this yourself...because you can)

Their spouses work as registered lobbyists - how can they not be influenced by someone they spend years with.?
Is it a total non-issue? Some lobbying accomplishes things like better health care for the elderly but doesn't it give people like drug companies an unfair playing advantage?

I don't beleive It is not just a Democratic or Republican issue but I welcome opinions -

Senator Byron L. Dorgan (D-ND) - wife
Senator David Vitter (R-LA) -wife

What I am seeing is a "Hang on little buddies! We will work hard to ensure that American takes absolutely no steps that might lead to any sort of positive outcome or victory in this situation". God forbid we should even make a token effort now to defeat the insurgency. Impeach Bush?? Hell, I say Impeach Congress, for treason.

I have heard different stories from many people but I personally found on CNN that Bush is planning to send in 20,000 more troops to the already troop-laden Iraq by March of 2007.I don't know about you but I think he should bring back 20,000 troops.

Not the actual infamous characters, but someone unfortunately named that? I ask in reference to the issue of Barack Hussein Obama's name. Liberal supporters raise their nose and say that anyone dumb enough to vote based on a name isn't smart enough to vote at all. Honestly though, what significance does it have? I think the candidate's merits should normally be the primary concern of voters, but I doubt anyone with those names could get elected head sewer worker...
