- My values are conservative...I think many folks are lazy because gov't paints the picture that there's too much bigotry to succeed (there's not).

- I am an atheist (but not an anti-theist)...I don't believe the country is a "judeo-christian country" because the founding fathers were judeo-christian any more than the bookshelf I made is a "black and deckar bookshelf".

- I love American's values (Liberty first, equality second) but I don't like how government operates (unwilling to say "no"...take care of this yourself...because you can)

Probably Republican, religion doesnt really matter for either party. Republicans are usually conservative and hold strong values.

You have a good question and excellent observations. I actually describe myself, politically, in similar terms. (though I am Christian, I do not count that as a political issue - as you said, the bookshelf isn't a "Black & Decker Bookshelf" just because of who made the tools).

In California, we have the option to "decline to state" political affiliation when we register to vote, which is how I am registered. Other states may have similar "unaffiliated" options.

To see where you fall into the political spectrum:

There are more choices than just the two main political parties, which really don't want you looking at other options.

The main thing is to not stick with one political party, but to look at each candidate to see how they fit with your views. Also look to see if the person stand a chance of winning, since you don't want to throw away you vote.

Definitely Libertarian.

If you had to choose between Republican and Democrat, you'd be much closer to Republican with the exception of your views on religion.

You sound like a right-wing Libertarian to me. There are various political quizzes online for you to dissect your views.
