I completely forgot I had an unpaid speeding ticket to attend to but I'm also supposed to be heading out of the country in six weeks. I was going to use the expedited process to attain a passport but now I'm more curious if they'll come up with that infraction during their background check. Or is it that hte background check is only criminal/federal offenses?

Criminal misdemeanors and felonies, parole restrictions and the like. But you should immediately pay that forgotten speeding ticket now. Then send in the expedited process. That system works great by they way. I used it and had my passport in 10 business days.
