The following quote is not from a conservative believe it or not.

Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

You think this tactic is being used?

The current president is in office because he was put there by the established (putatively democratic) system. Are the people who voted for him to blame for his failures (if he has any!), or is Bush himself to blame?

Evening news say there are major crack downs on Terrorist cells in Britan, but there are thousands of Muslins in the UK. Do you think Bush will want to bomb them to rubble? Remember civilians, women, babies, all are collateral damage , when terrorists are there.
We sent emergency orders of munitions, 5,000# bunker busters, and cluster bombs to Israel to bomb civilians in Lebanon because 'terrorists' were there hiding. They're hiding in England, too!

First we had John Walker Lindh, and Now we have Adam Gadahn - both middle class American men who converted to Islam, and joined Islamic fanatics in arms against their country.
In Lindh's case, it's a travesty that Bush slapped his wrist with twenty years behind bars. He's a traitor and should've been executed.
Gadahn has now become the American minister of propaganda for Al Qaeda as he broadcasts treasonous messages to US forces and the public, telling us to join Al Qaeda and convert to Islam.

Could you imagine an American speaking for Hitler sixty five years ago?

As far as I'm concerned, Gadahn has given up any of the protections the constitution has guaranteed him, and if caught, should be tried as an enemy combatant, and when found guilty, executed.
