With it being real estate, can he remember who his realitor is?? If he can then the realitor might be able to help you out. Also check with his lawyer. He might know something.

If you know the county where the property was located, try getting in touch with the county assessor.

Try looking through your dad's bank records to see where he was paying property taxes. That should give you leads.

If he is paying a morgage with the property as collateral, the lender he is paying should know the property designation. If you have a copy of the mortgage papers, the property should be listed there as collateral.

I'm unclear as to what you mean by ".getting letters?"

If you are looking for real estate property, just look through his checking account for the past year and see who the payee is on his real estate tax check. Call that county and they can look up his record by his last name.

if you know the county go to the courthouse. all records are public. try tax dep. they will want tax and will know where to find all info you seek. good luck.
