The following quote is not from a conservative believe it or not.

Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."
-- Herman Goering at the Nuremberg trials

You think this tactic is being used?

In respect to IRAQ there is no doubt of it.

When the highest level of the administration were part of the administration that fought IRAQ before you would have to conclude they found a way of taking care of unfinished business.

If the Bush administration had been required to go before a grand jury to present their case for attacking IRAQ it is imposable to see how they could have given an okay to attack that country. The so called evidence was very circumstantial. All most all of it followed the following line of thought.

"If it looks like something we think may be happening then it probably is"

Even Collen Powell, who presented this 'evidence' to the U.N. now considers it a low point in his career.

If you can't fight and invisible enemy then find one you can. They did and they set about trying to convince everyone they were right. When other countries did not follow they were they verbally attacked and the American people were made to feel they were not so much our friends after all.

For all to long this country has been distracted from the real enemy.

The bushies know well how to brainwash the masses and re-write history to suit its agendas.

I think the best way to end this abomination in the middle east would be for everyone to bomb State of Israel off the map. Peace will reign in the middle-east and set back Zionist global domination 50 years.

Sounds like a textbook example torn from the pages of history AND the President's diary. Creepy.

Of course it is, just look at all the stupid, gullible people who still believe we are in Iraq because they are a threat to us. We attacked Iraq for one reason and one reason only, OIL control. The administration only used the terrorist card because they know most people are going to automatically roll over and say, "sure, Mr. Prez, anything you say, Mr. Prez....and while you're at, kick me again"

What really upsets me is that Bush took it one step further...he's got half the country actually believing that God is on our side.... the ultimate justification. Scary stuff.

Sure, but what would you suggest we do otherwise? Letting them bomb us again? Be nice and hope for the best? Allow them to obliterate Israel, one of our few friends in the Middle East? I think not.
I don't appreciate your insinuation that Republicans and servicemen are blind sheep who are dumb enough to be fooled by cheap chicanery.
