Wal-Mart was founded by a poor farm boy named Sam Walton. Many people began shopping at Wal-Mart, when the chain began for that reason, that and because Sam Walton charged reasonable prices, guaranteed his product most were made in USA, and he paid his employees well. Sam is now deceased Since his departure, prices have gone up, most Wal-marts now pay their employees minimum wage to start out, the employees who began working for Wal-Mart prior to Sams death get paid a higher wage, and most started out making more than minimum wage at that time, there are now more imports in Wal-Mart stores than ever before and now they are building self checkout registers so they won't need as many employees at all. (except to stock the shelves of chourse. I was talking to one of the older Wal-Mart employees the other day and she told me that they have switched her schedule to ridiculous hours and said she felt like she was being forced out the door. I am boycotting Wal-Mart.

With the sophistication of modern ordinance, as demonstrated by the Iraqi highway of death, how can the right to bear arms and huge social cost that it causes be justified?
After the British forces defeated the American ones in 1815 and burnt the American white house, I guess they don’t have to prove a thing. I cant see Canada invading again, and Mexico seems to have given up on getting California and Texas back. So who exactly are the guns to defend against?
Is it that American’s are so conservative that they regard the American constitution as a perfect document and can’t be change?

ok, in american history class, we visited a website that talked about the possibility of the U.S. conspiring and that we actually did hit the pentagon ourselves, not the indians/muslim people.
i was wondering if anybody knew the wesbite?
it has a really good video and points out things like how the plane looks like it has no wings, and that the local gas station that has a video camera on its roofhas the video taken away by the CIA.
please nobody get mad, i'm not saying that we did it, but i was interested in finding the website again.
any help would be appreciated. =]

How do we define ourselves as Americans.. Truly, its almost impossible nowdays to identify what an American really is.. The reason is our diversity.. To many ethnic groups diversify America and splits our decisions.. It is a huge reason for debates in politics and war, such as the one in Iraq.. We cant shun the muslim community because they are a part of us, and because of that the Muslim community will outrage and be displeased with the war(this is just an example).. If you think back to WW2 there were protests to our involvment but none to such scale is it would now.. Its because we no longer no what an American really is.. Thats why the country is being torn apart.. We've lost our sense of who we are and our country.. We have to tried to abolish all connections with god in our government.. This country was founded under god and yet we are trying to change it due to the dipleasure of other ethnic groups.. Im not racist, just wondering what you think of this

i have been stockpiling supplies to survive because of this gut feeling something bad will happen soon. a lot of people seem to be doing the same. usa keeps meddling in the worlds affairs and i believe in the near future terrorists are going to temporarily cause us serious harm. if our way of life is seriously disrupted i believe it will be like the los angelos riots or katrina where thugs take over the streets.temporarily we will have to survive on our own. if something bad does happen and we are not ready it will be to late. im from north louisiana and every store was empty of water flashlights batteries bread candles. superwalmart included, and that happened in one day.tell me if you have any feelings lately of a catastrophe happening.

Who will end up paying for the massive overruns, who will be accountable, and what will happen to the culprits?

Is the same thing about to happen in Seattle Washington?

Don't worry, I'm about to run out of these.
I was just wondering if we should revisit the Roosevelt Corollary to the Monroe Doctrine in regards to Mexico. Teddy Roosevelt claimed that the United States had the right to intervene itself in the domestic affairs of its neighbors "if those neighbors proved unable to protect U.S. investments in the region on their own".

So my question is this: Do you think the Mexican government is protecting U.S. investments?

Or has the time come to lead a charge up San Juan Hill?

This was one poster's response to another question.

I'd like someone to explain to me how it is that more than a small percentage of people aged 20-30 are able to see "the big picture".

My own experience tells me that their own lack of experience in life leaves them with an inability and, sometimes, an unwillingness to see the big picture. In addition, many people I meet in that age group are woefully uninformed, not to say without opinions! For the most part, substantive conversations about world events are simply not practical.

My experience tell me that the reason why people get more "conservative" as they age is that they've gained more exposure to the world AS IT REALLY IS - thereby enabling them to have a clearer idea of what constitues a practical solution to a particular problem. There are plenty of exceptions, of course, on both sides of the political spectrum.

I don't call that "conservative" - I call it practical, informed, common sensical, rational, etc.
