Economically the wars brought down the countries to shambles,
Socially, the wars made these countries divided on cultures,
Environmentally, the territories contained toxins and landmines,
Politically, the people are divided by issues, and
Commercially, other states do not want to buy their goods.

In Vietnam the USA realized that they were not invincible. Reporters were allowed to go everywhere and we saw on a daily basis all the horrors of war. Hence the opposition movement. Nowadays, reporters are strictly controlled in wars.
Cambodia was an experiment by China in the last years of the Maoist era meant to realize some kind of «true communism». Obviously a failure.

Vietnam saw communist insurgence throughout Southeast Asia. Korea preserved the South Korean government as a democratic institution, and a strong economy prevails there now.
