There was this scene in the movie Swordfish. A computer hacker was told to break into a really, really secure computer with a short time limit, a gun to his head, and the gangster with the gun's paid-for girlfriend, um, taking care of some business under the table between his legs. He got through, but if it was me, I would have forgotten the computer and simply stroked the girl's hair and asked the gangster "Mind if I shoot first?"

Most people don't work well with distracting or disruptive behaviour, but some do. Some thrive on pressure. There is an economic principle that is also often at play--it is the same thing as when we mow the grass, cut it down and it grows back faster and fuller. In your case, I suspect you are doing well and jealousy is at play, or you are making the lazy look bad. Hang in there.

On an average I would say yes they are more productive if there aren't any distractions or anyone sabotaging them.
Now if those who are doing all the distracting and sabotaging would just grow up and learn that they are actually doing harm to others they just might keep their big mouths shut so others could finish what they were doing.
Now for those who are being distracted as well as being sabotaged would also learn to stay away for those who are causing them all the problems then think how much more productive they would be.
We really don't need those who cause all the problems in our lives so keep your distance and see how much better it is for all.

Of course not - why do you ask these sort of questions?
You can't be looking for validation on the obvious can you?

As you already know the best way to get anything done is either with help or to be left alone to get the job done and sabotage doesn't "help". You clearly don't need me to point that out so once again why do you ask these sort of questions?

Sabotage and distractions are sometime motives for people to work harder in order to counter the negative perceptions.

It happened to me and I was slower because I couldn't concentrate. I was too upset.
