I know Jimmy Carter should be considered a saint when he dies; but he was, to SOME, the worst DEMOCRATIC president. So is he the worst or is there a NEW king. A continuation of the "well ain't dry" VERSUS series.

I think when half the world is starving it is obscene the amount of money paid to Footballers, Actors etc for just doing their jobs.
My answer to world poverty would be that everyone in the world, that is in paid employment, has to give 1 weeks wages to charity every year.
While my salary would mean not a very large donation I am sure the contributions of many celebrities, sportsmen, actors etc. would be substantial enough to make a huge difference in the fight against hunger & starvation in the world.
What do you think?
Would everyone contribute?

I t seems like Boulder has great ideals, and the USA federal government has made choices that unreconscilably different from these. wouldn't it be better to withdraw support and form an independant state?

Documents Expose Sept. 11 Fraud
Report: Thefts Not Prosecuted After Government Discovered FBI Misdeeds

NEW YORK, June 16, 2006

The disaster specialist was proud to dispatch replacement boots from the Long Island warehouse of a company paid by the government to manage rescue supplies donated by Americans. Then came the moment that crushed Christopherson's faith.

His employer dispatched trucks to the warehouse and loaded hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of donated bottled water, clothes, tools and generators to be moved to Minnesota in a plot to sell some for profit, according to government records and interviews.

The government also didn't prosecute any of its employees for taking souvenirs, claiming it lacked a policy prohibiting such thefts.

Ultimately, the FBI donated the stolen goods found at KEI's warehouse to the Salvation Army.

Joe Friedberg, a lawyer who represented a KEI executive, dismissed the Sept. 11 thefts as "much ado about not

I posted a question about the FEMA crap and I really don't think ppl are listening to themselves talk.

Everyone is so quick to raise cane and give reasons as to why ppl should not be given any aid BUT nobody made one comment about the fact that BIG BUSINESS is getting the vast majority of Katrina donated money.

Do u ppl hear yourselfs? Has the propaganda of a few cases where ppl abused the system all over the news brainwashed u so bad that you can't see the REAL ISSUE?

Where are the BILLIONS of dollars that have been donated = in the hands of BIG BUSINESS. IE, a big company gets a high paying job, he then hires a subcontractor... this is repeated with about 7 layers of subcontractors. The big company gets a huge profit and never raises 1 finger.

But you ppl r so easily mentally manipulated all u can think of is the propaganda that all ppl want something for nothing. I just want donated money to end up for the cause it was 'advertised' to be donated to.

First off, there was an audit and they found some bogus reasons some ppl spent FEMA money. WHO CARES how the ppl spent their money if they were entitled to it?

NOW, they are saying FEMA is going to reduce helping future disaster vicitms out with cash. I can't believe this bologna.

My mother lost her home in 1999 to Hurricane Floyd and she did not receive 1 penny from FEMA. Why? Because she rented. She lost everything and because she didn't own her home, she got ZERO help from FEMA.

Ppl have no clue what it is like to wake up one day and everything in your home that you have acquired over years and years and years is gone.

GREED GREED GREED!!! Take a look at New Orleans pictures TODAY and ask yourself - "where have the billions of dollars gone to?" Some places look like the hurricane just hit yesterday.

That money didn't end up in victim's pockets. I saw on PBS that some contractors sub it down 9 times... It's going to BIG BUSINESS but future victims r being punished.
