Look, I understand what you're saying....and while I agree the death/injury count is staggering, I also think it is important to "win". Believe it or not. It is unfortunate that we got involved in the first place...but keep in mind that at that point we had lost how many lives in the twin towers plus the lives lost at the pentagon...and something had to be done.

I am by no means a supporter of Bush....but I think in the large scheme of things, I think it is highly important that we do win in the end. Our family members and friends who voluntarily decided to join the military are over there doing what they chose to be a part of. Yes there is serious injury involved. But let's not downplay the importance of the roles they are playing. Nobody joins the military and expects to have a plush do-nothing life...and if they do, then they didn't do enough research or attend enough history classes.

Bush supporters are generally such because of the financial gain, not so much because of the death toll.

Anyway, I think the injuries are sad and unfortunate and I feel for those who know the ones in those situations. But again, I think it's important what our military has started -- they need to finish...and when they do, maybe the world will be a better place....although I think it's hard to correct a war that's been going on for thousands and thousands of years.

I don't think it's a matter of supporting Bush, but the soldiers still there. I agree that war sucks but it's a fact of life when egos get the better of us. What would happen if we did pull out now? Would it be any better for the people in Iraq - or us? I think that by taking care of the terrorism there is keeping us safer here. Put your energy towards supporting the troops there. I know that's all my soldier friends ask.

If you think Republicans and Bush supporters like it when a soilder dies or is hurt you are not as smart as you think you are.

Compare the numbers of soliders hurt and killed in this war to other wars and you will see the numbers are much smaller.

Using the deaths of brave men who died for the Iraqi people's freedoms and to fight terriorism is sick and wrong and is also a disrespect to the price they paid for all our saftey.

Do you think the people in Iraq were better off before??? They were not! Now they can speak freely just like we can in the USA. Now they have the right to show what a dumb@@@ they are just like you did by using the freedom of speech.

The only reason you have freedom of speech is because of the men and women who died for you!!!!

I wish they would tell us how much we've gained from this.

okay 2500 isn't a lot. Neither is 50,000 amputee. Just a small casualty in terms of real wars. But damn how much have we gained???

I want some oil revenue numbers, maybe how many countries are favoring the US after this war. I'm all for a profitable war. But I haven't see the profitability. We aren't safer than we are pre-9-11... More countries hate us now. Shouldn't we try to befriend them instead of going head to head with every country that dislikes us? I dunno just a thought.

Odviously, the majority in American voted for Bush... we have to respect him as a president. If you hate him so much... why don't you move to another country... say, Iraq or Afganistan.

Before you slam our Great United States... really think about how good you do have it.

If you don't think you have it so well... MOVE... you are free to do so, thanks to our troops... thanks to other presidents... and, even President Bush.

Thanks to our government... thanks to our freedom... you have the right to get out.

You do not know the entire truth about why we are at war... maybe you should do a little research? Do you not hear about the great things that are happening to the people of Iraq?

Freedom is NOT free... and does not come without a price. If we leave these people now - they will never be free. They will continue to suffer and the terrorists will continue to kill innocent lives.

They will continue until they reach the mainland of the USA. I'd rather stop them at the root of the problem; on their own land - before they try to attack us on our land.

If we do not stop the terrorists, they will push on - until they reach our homeland and hurt you and those you love.

Again, I stress... freedom is NOT free.

I know better than anyone... I have loved, and suffered loss because of this war... but, if it helps many children/families to become free... it is worth it.

The future does count. It's not all about what's happening today... but, tomorrow as well.

For my children - and yours.

I agree, they need to check into a hospital and get meds to treat their delusional side. Anybody that doesn't think that Bush is the most immoral creature ever **** on a rock is nuts. That does not even take into account his domestic policy that is leaving many poor and middle class behind. I hope he enjoys his coke, and his booze. This stupid war based on lives needs to be over now. Bring the troupes home now before any more are killed or damaged

No I would say you are the sick one. Maybe you don't want to stand up against the Islamic Facist that would put your head on a block but I do. I praise those wonderful men and women working to make it safe for you and legal for you to publish the garbage you do on these boards. With out them you would have no rights. The one thing you and the al queda network have in common is tolerance - a lack there of. The one thing you and the al queda network don't have is an eye to eye on what is right on the world....if you want to pacify them they'll just take your head.

I am not sick. I feel fine. I had a bit of a cold last week though.

...But seriously... I don't agree with everthing GW has done, but common sense and moral integrity will tell you we can't remove a Government and just leave an unprotected country.

We have to see this through and the end is getting close.

I like when they make those numbers out to be nothing. 'Ah that's nothing, back in World War Two we'd lose that many in a day.' Like that makes it ok.
They also conveniently forget that the technology has gotten a hell of a lot better. You tend to lose a lot less soldiers when you can drop laser guided bombs on your enemy instead of rushing a bunch of guys in with riffles like they did in WW2.
And I agree with whoever said earlier how all the Iraqis who die don't seem to count. This country is sickening.
