I vote for either Bill Clinton for a multitude of reasons (I don't care that he got a BJ at work) or Jimmy Carter who is a great Human Being, just think he was a bad leader

Some people talk about it like it is cowboys and indians here. Like it is a movie. "Root em out." "Take care of em over there rather than here." You have everything from violent night time raids that further anger the citizens and turn them into militia men to putting in puppet governments. It's serious business here. We could be poking at a hive of bees. What if a worst case scenario did occur? What if they really do have the capability to launch a nuclear or chemical offensive on U.S. soil right now? That could kill hundereds of thousands within a day. You can't prevent all attacks. Any reasonable politician or military strategist will tell you that. What if our tactics have actually made things much worse? Just because something hasn't occured by now doesn't necessarily mean that it can't or won't occur at all. And it doesn't mean that the current efforts have somehow stifled any future plans of the enemy. Was there a better way of going about this? Diplomatic relations? Sanctions?

I was thinking we could have a war on drugs and a war on poverty, since those have worked well. Then we could have a war on tornados, those cause a lot of damage.

Y'know what else? How about a War on Abortion and a war on global warming. War causes a lot of damage, let's have a war on war.

I don't know, I just think that declaring war on IDEAS is fun, because y'know; you can't really win them.

will be the Dem/Libs response....for now just as with the absence of outrage over two of our soldiers being brutally murdered there is nothing but silence or feeble excuses.

Is the government going too far with mixing religion and state?

Has the president's own views clouded his leadership of the country?

I know that people have strong opinions when it comes to politics and religion, and I was just wondering what other people thought about it (because I obviously already know my own opinions on the government)...

It is amazing to me that Bill Clinton got threatened with impeachment for lying about sex !!! and this president lied to the whole country about a lot more serious things than that.
When Clinton lied, nobody died.

Please explain, if you are either, why you can't stand the other party (if you feel that way). I am and have always been an Independent. I don't care for Bush but I can't say that I agree 100% with either side on every issue. I think it would be great if we were all just Independent because there would be so much less fighting, don't you think? I mean fighting amongst ourselves in the U.S. This way the country could vote for the person they pick no matter what party he/she is as President instead of FEELING they HAVE to vote Rep. or Dem. There have been fights w/people at work that almost to punching over political party (not me). This is why my parents NEVER shared their political views. I understand now -- and I'm over 40.

Really. Regardless of how this whole Iraq thing turns out, our policy on attacking before we are attacked...sucks! Protect us from home...don't let them get us here. Don't go picking fights in someone elses neighborhood. And enought already with the antirights movement...give us freedom...

Is the democratic party so fractured and leaderless that they are now beyond hope? They couldn't even agree on a timetable vote for the pullout of Iraq. Nancy Pelosi is in a leadership position>>???? Why now barney the dinosaur while we're at it. Name your canidate for pres. and how much of a chance you think they have.

Forgive my ignorance....but what is the relationship between these two countries all the way? Are people in North Korea allowed to visit or move to China? Is it the export/import business or what? I have not read up on this relationship. Why is it that North Korea pretty much against everyone - why do they like China so much?

Homeland Security has a very specific purpose. It was created to coordinate the efforts to defend the U.S. of internal and external threats, however, it has created a huge bureacracy whose most important qualification is to be a "patriot". Doesn't anybody see the fact that it perpetuates itself, creates new jobs, new allegianges among the "initiated" and does business for billions of dollars by fostering paranoid fear among the American people? Why has it taken over functions traditionally performed by the FBI, the NASA, the CIA, and local police? Does it have to do with the scope of the threat and the need to coordinate efforts, or is it just another naked power grab? Are there any other similar instances in past world history? Could any one illustrate them?
