I was thinking we could have a war on drugs and a war on poverty, since those have worked well. Then we could have a war on tornados, those cause a lot of damage.

Y'know what else? How about a War on Abortion and a war on global warming. War causes a lot of damage, let's have a war on war.

I don't know, I just think that declaring war on IDEAS is fun, because y'know; you can't really win them.

Very nice amosunknown, however Terrorism is actually a thought and an act; furthermore it is simply using violence to further a political agenda.

For example, murdering British troops and destroying British property during the Revolutionary war were acts of Terrorism.

There are wars going on against all these things. Tornadoes, for example, are being researched and studied every day so that maybe one day, and an effective weapon can be launched against them as they occur. For right now research is being centered on defensive measures. You mentioned a war on war. Peace protesters already declared that war, and is being fought today. A war on hurricanes is being fought through research. In fact, if you recall, the U.S. actually attacked a hurricane with a fighter jet (seeding). Police are fighting drugs everyday to keep them off the streets. Poverty is being fought, but maybe as hard as it should be. One thing you shouldn't want to declare war on is ideas. If you destroy ideas, then you destroy the means to fight the wars that the ideas help to fight.

All of those other wars you mentioned have been going on for centuries. They are nonwinable. Politics gets in the way, lack of money gets in the way, and just the uncaring feelings of the populace gets in the way. That puts all of us in a Catch 22 situation.

I guess just stand up for what you believe in. You may not win the "war" but you may be able to impact it in a positive way.
