Is all caring wrong? Even if it helps avoid cancers?

Because they are greedy. Instead of preserving the planet, they want to build or drill for oil. They think there is more money in that than in tourism. No all caring is not wrong. They just want you to think it's wrong. They are the ones who are wrong. Why destroy where you live? This is the only planet we have, we should be preserving it not destroying it.

Because they are so damned gullible to every fool chicken little theory that comes down the pike. And they are blithely blind to the effects of their actions.

Conservatives are actually supportive of conservation and responsible stewardship of our natural resources and the environment, based on sound science and sound economics.

We see many of the environmental stuff - Kyoto, global warming, CAFE standards, no drilling for oil, etc - are both scientifically shaky and economically unsound. That means doing self-damaging actions for made-up reasons. That is idiocy and should be shunned.

You see, it is the Gaia worshippers we see as being poor stewards and harmful to both the environment and the economy. They are fundamentalist religious nuts on par with the jihadists.

Stopping the lumber industry led directly to the huge conflagrations of last decade. Allowing the harvesting of lumber, making of roads and clearcuts prevents small fires from being large ones and is good stewardship.

Preventing oil exploration or nuclear plants or oil refineries harms us and does not help the environment. Hysteria over some ecologically insignificant variation of a species also harms us. Taking someone else's land and forbidding them to develop it is a violation of their rights, courtesy of the environmentalists.

Environmental rules which require putting industrial plants to the very latest rules if they do any updating meant that they didn't update anything. Allowing smaller updates that minorly improve efficiency and reduce pollution per output volume makes more sense, economically and ecologically.

This is why we make fun of the granola set - because they're silly birkenstock jihadists.

People that also understand the importance of jobs, economy, and the wants, desires, and needs of people... only make fun of people that are over zealous, or extreme regarding the environment, and all people do care about the environment and do as much as they can to preserve and protect it. All caring is right when it's not done in a fit of rage, or finger pointing blame upon others. By doing, we get things done, by continuously blaming others, nothing ever gets accomplished .

That's a gross generalization. I'm a Republican, I don't have a car (though I can easily afford one) and I average 10hrs a week doing volunteer work with underprivelidged children. On the other hand, out of my Dem friends only one of them has forgone her car 'to help the environment' and their idea of volunteer work is hosting 'happy hours' to raise money for charities.

And what actual source do you have for Global Warming - other than Gore? He took his view, got people to back him up, put fictious data in a computer model and is burning fuel promoting his film. Basically he wants to throw about a Trillion dollars into validating his theory - that could be better spent educating and providing health care for underprivelidged children.

Because money is the most important thing in the whole freaking world. Who cares if it all looks like Gary, Indiana.

I'll say this: there are plenty of environmentalists who are content to have a clean environment, but still use products made in other countries where their environmental standards are not up to snuff.

Right - Why can't those fascist:
drive the cars we tell them to drive
use water how, when, where, and why we say to use it
use the energy we tell them to use
use the electrical sources we say are OK
eat the meat we say is OK
stay away from pristine areas so just we can use them

I'm glad someone cares, and I agree we could do a better job, but I refuse to let someone tell me how to live my life. As long as I hurt no one but myself, keep your "help" to yourself.
