quote...
She also said she does not support cutting benefits or increasing the retirement age.

1.) How specifically is supporting the tie breaking vote of Al Gore for taxation of social security NOT reducing benefits. Along with breaking a fifty year old promise to the nations elderly, if you have less money for discretionary spending and are paying more of what's allocated to you, then ...newsflash...THATS A REDUCTION IN BENEFITS.
2.) How is supporting the clinton authored largest tax increase in us history not reducing beneifits and relief to the elderly. taxes dont embolden an economy or stimulate it..THEY STIFLE IT.
quote2.)
"When I'm president, privatization is off the table because it's not the answer to anything."
3.) How is privatization NOT the answer. What possible benefit could it be to a potential retiree to ceede his retirement money to leaders with this motivation

The American people have a fairly dim view of Congress but do have a high approval rating for their own Congressman. Why?

I think it's a good idea. I don't make enough right now to afford health insurance, which is something like $200 a month. For me, that's a big chunk of my take-home...that is 1/3 of rent. I can't afford that. Luckily I'm young and healthy, but if I have a medical emergency, I'll go bankrupt. It would be nice if I could go to the doctor and pay a reasonable fee based on my income, with the government subsidizing it.

I don't believe in free handouts...I'm not on welfare, food stamps, or anything. The only thing I take are subsidized student loans (I have to pay them back) and veterans benefits (I served my time for these) I just think that health care should not be a benefit for the rich.

Then why do so many people hate the idea of "socialized" medicine?

It has become an epidemic. Many of the old Bush regulars, most of them close friends, have left the Bush Administration for private life. Countless government posts have no leadership, some of them operating under "acting" chiefs. Could this be because of the unpopularity of the Bush regime, or perhaps disagreement with his handling of the issues? Bush was noticeably angry over the departure of Alberto Gonzales and, with his friends gone, including Wolfovitz who was forced to resign from the UN, could it be that Bush, like Richard Nixon, finds those White House halls very lonely?

I am Canadian so I sympatize that a country which spends on average $4,200 per person for health care through a corrupt system can not see a country like cuba provides national healthcare to all at almost the same services with such a small GDP. They also have very affordable medications.

Does that make any sense?

This is what Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn say. Do agree? If so, why? If not, why not?

More detail as I understand it: They refer to the Federalist papers. They quote the "majority faction" wording in them, saying that protection is needed from "majority factions" among other factions. They interpret "majority faction" to mean the poor or the masses.

So many people leave Britain for various reasons. I'd like to know what the most common reason is.
I've thought about leaving with my family to live in the US, my reason is i can't afford to live in England anymore, ironic isn't it I am English (have been for over 25 years) but can't live in England.
The government have made it harder for the lower and middle class but made no changes to the rich.
I sometimes wonder if they are trying to get rid of everyone but the rich and make this a HIGH class society.
