A Jimmy Carter Christian would help you build a house. The Bush one would take it away from you, give it to a contributor and pray for you.

A Jimmy Carter Christian plays with rattle snakes.

I may be wrong, but I believe this referred to the first Bush presidency, George, Sr. Jimmy Carter practiced his religion on a daily basis with honesty and compassion. George I went to church on Sunday. That was the difference then. If you go by George Jr., he practices his religion as if he were wielding a bludgeon. You vill be Christian or else! And his kind of Christianity allows killing of prisoners but not unborn babies, allows damaging the planet instead of husbanding it, and allows invading other countries just because you don't like them and they have something you want.

A christian is a christian, it does not matter if you are a republican or Democrat. Both would have to believe that a birth, death and Resurrection took place to be a christian.

Republican like to think more on the lines as, there are no gay republican, and only Democrats get abortion. Common sense(which is what most politician don't have) will tell you there are people who drink, steal, lie, are gay and have abortion on both sides.

I wish we could vote for the man or woman and leave party's out of it. But for me, I would pick Jimmy Carter over Bush any day of the week. I also do not believe in abortion and I don't think gay is a life style choice, I believe in what the word of God says and most of all I BELIEVE IN FORGIVENESS.

The reality is that Carter's Christianity which based upon his actual past and present behaviors/actions ,is substantially more CHRIST LIKE than whatever Bush claims as a Christian.

The major reason Carter was not an effective President is simply because his Christian morals/ethics and considerations constantly was/is not the behaviors needed by the President of the US.

Bush, who is in fact a very superficial "Christian" has no trouble whatsoever about waging an illegal war of choice all based upon a pack of filthy un-Christian lies that has resulted in the slaughter of at least 400,000 innocent Iraqi men ,women and CHILDREN.

While the immoral Bush has told us that in his conversations witrh God,God supposedely approved his atrocity in Iraq eventhough ALL main stream Christian Churches including Bush's own Methodist Church has un-equivicably condemned Bush's atrocity in Iraq as a moral abomination and is ANTI-Christian.

Carter's Christianity just could not allow him to perpetrate these atrocious abominations.

nicely, shall we see. Reagan and Bush have been large Presidents. Carter replaced into probable the worst President in reminiscence. i do no longer truly see what being Christian has to do with it. it must be that Reagan and Bush did no longer have a brother named Billy.

I am not in a position to judge.

There are 2 types of Christians, though - daily Christians and Sunday Christians. Daily Christians follow Jesus every day of their lives. Sunday Christians follow Jesus only when it benefits them.

I will throw out a few important Bible verses. You can draw your own conclusions as to who follows them-

Matthew 25:40 -
"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'".

1 Peter 3:8-11 -
"Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
He must turn from evil and do good;
he must seek peace and pursue it."

1 John 4:18 -
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."

Jimmy Carter is a devout and authentic Christian who believes Religion is a personal matter. He believes in separation of church and state by following Jesus' teaching to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and God what is God's. George Bush is a Christian who uses his Christianity as a political tool to gain votes. He and his followers are thwarting the 1st amendment prohibition on establishing a state Religion.

As most Christians support Israel, I doubt you could call Carter a Christian...he may be a southern baptist but that's about it.....
