The U.S. healthcare system is profit driven. Why on earth would the drug companies want to find a cure for various diseases? Where would the profit come from with a healthy nation?

The best way to fight back is to live a healthy life style. Most food produced in this country is awful for your health; pesticides, preservatives, trans-fats, hormones, etc.

Eating right and exercising is the best practice in staying away from the doctors office.

People would die anyway. But the Medical establishment in the entire Western world is basically the same. IN fact we have a not too bad medical system compared to say Africa, or China.

This being said the cost of that care could be dropped immensely by removing the regulation of the system. That regulation is widely believed to help save us from the evil capitalists, but in fact that is Marxist claptrap. What it really does is allow those same capitalist to dictate through the means of government regulation how, who, where and when we will get medicines and at what price.

Further if you could just have a nurse diagnose simple things like colds and flu's, do stitches, set bones.....etc, then the price would go down, and Doctors would be free to tend to those that truly needed their special learning.

There is no easy fix.

Europe lets people die. Need a kidney immediately, but have to wait 9 months on a waiting list, and you die in 3 months?

American medicine is the best there is.

It's because this is the only country in which we allow economics to define our healthcare system. The Nixon administration thought, "wouldn't it be great to have a system of healthcare in which the insurance companies dictated who deserved to be covered and who not," and that started our wonderful system of turning down insurance claims and removing sick people from hospitals.

That's quite a statement do you have any thing to back it up. I'm not aware of any hospital or doctor having a policy to let people die. I have heard of cases in Europe where by the time the person could get the treatment that he or she needed they had died.

People die despite any health care system. If you know of one where they don't I'd love to hear about it. Where are you getting your information on this?

You've evidently not taken a look at the Canadian health care system, or the people who leave Canada to get the treatment their government won't give them.
