Ok, now..if your thinking Lebanon is really getting what it deserves, then your wrong it is the Lebanese goverment that deserves punishment, not innocet civilians who had nothing to do with it. It's sad that the multi-billion (or was it million?) project to restore Lebanon is going to waste. It's just like any country that was and is stuck in a war. with innocent civilions caught in the middle of this action..Does any one disagree or agree with me?

Every year, every citizen who wants to fund stem cell research gives 5 extra bucks in taxes. If you do this you get placed on a list. If you decide you do not want to fund it because you are a religious nut... fine, don't give the extra 5 bucks, but if you ever get sick with one of the disceases that can get cured after the reseach, then you better pray hard 'cause you are SOL... makes sense?

Since other countries are working on this medical technology,
it means the wealthy will be able to fly off to a foreign country
for treatment, while the poor will die off.
Is this just another plan to get rid of the poor, esp, the sick poor?

Yes, I did see a program where a young boy was cured of
leukemia with stem cells. Progress is being made.
I think this will throw the U.S., lightyears behind other countries
with medical research. Very sad.

Would people still support the war, if kids were being sent over there from a Draft army and not from the Reserves and Volunteer forces?

Assume that your amendment would be automatically approved, but keep in mind that it would have to be interpreted by courts...so choose your language carefully!

Also, please explain WHY you choose what you choose. A response with a good explanation is much more likely to be chosen as the best answer.

If you are not a US citizen, you may give a suggestion for the U.S. Constitution or your own country, but I would prefer suggestions for the U.S. I am an American, after all :)

We are able to file our tax's online, register our children for school online and etc. So why can't we vote online? We would have a larger amount of people going through the process. Lets face it. After work, taking care of the kids and everything else that distract us in our daily lives its really hard to stand in long lines. Especially when you are worried about whats next one the the agenda after you've been there for hours. There has to be a better way. So how do we do it. Somebody please ... what is the solution?

This is very troubling. In recent months two proposals have been introduced to the House of Representatives to amend the Consitution of the United States and repeal the 22nd amendment. The 22nd amendment was put place to limit the number of times a president could be in office to two terms.

The first, HJRES 11 IH, was introduced on January 7, 2003 by Representative Serrano. On February 25, 2003 HJ 25 IH was introduced. These appear to be identical. The latter proposed amendment has 7 sponsors

The president has the legal right to veto any bill that passes in congress unless it recieves more than two thirds of the votes, but do you think he should use that power on a controvertial bill that he objects to on moral principles even when his is the minority voice?

Would you like him more or less as a leader for doing that? Do you think it's the president's place to veto a bill that was so popular in congress? Does it make him look like a strong leader, or do you view it as overstepping his authority to veto a bill that passed both houses of congress with so much support? Would it change anything if his official statements on the subject made painfully clear that he has no understanding of the subject of the bill and his objections do not actually apply to anything in the bill or even the general topic of the bill?

He didn't even flinch when he was "privately" speaking with Tony Blair. I was very impressed. He sounded confident and matter-of-fact about where he stands, as he always has, but without the stagefright.

Some people claim social programs are necessary because they are a "safety net". However, this is not really true. The government is comprised of us ("We the people..."), and it is also funded by us. We (you, me, and all of our fellow tax-payers) are the "safety net", the government is just 1 possible method of distribution.

I believe that nothing much would change if the programs went away. After all, we (the tax-payers) and our money have not disappeared, so it is not a question of available resources, it is a question of distribution. With the programs gone, we could each choose our own method of distribution (person to person, Red Cross, United Way, Salvation Army, chruches, temples, etc). I prefer this method because it embodies the idea of freedom ("land of the free, home of the brave").

I am open to your opinions, but please, if all you are going to do is call me names, then don't bother.

My boyfriend recently lost both pieces of id, his birth certificate and his SS card. Yeah, I know thats bad. Anyways, I feel like it was partly my fault (long story) so I told him I would get his birth certificate for him. I have seen prices from $20 to $100 but just cant seem to find where I can order straight from the county of Grand Forks North Dakota. If you could help me out with this it would sure take some weight off my shoulders. Thanks!!
