I vote in the 2008 presidential elections, and this will be my first time, and even though I'm leaning a lot to one of the candidates I want to "know" all of them, and know exactly what it is that they stand for and everything, so I've been wanting to see the speeches and stuff but I never know when they are...
Where can I find out, or does anyone know when the next one is?

Rep.Bob Allen of Florida was recently arrested on charges that he offered $20.00 to an undercover Police Officer for oral sex.. . .

Congressman Foley was "ousted" for liking young men. . .

46 Republican Politicians are convicted Pedophiles. . .

The Republican Log Cabins are a gay organization. . .

Here is what I don't understand. . .
Your Party is famous for "thumping" the Bibles under your arms, furthermore throwing it in the "Political Arena."

Your Party has many "famous Preacher's" on TV, denouncing Homosexuality.

What gives with all the above?? How do you explain all the hycrocrisy?

I'm aware the Democrats have their share of "odd" Politicians, but yet they're not the Party who runs around promoting the Bible, and making judgments on how you should live, as your's, what gives??

A clip was shown on the news today of Barak Obama where he clearly stated to Planned Parenthood that sex education should be taught to 5 year olds in public schools scientifically (he didn't mention anything about morals). Our public schools are taxed locally and are controlled by local districts - so why would a President tell us what the curriculum should be regarding such a controversial subject?

I don't understand why people will make all these excuses why they would'nt vote for Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.
Just say "i'm a republican" or give an educated answer. Don't say because "he's an eratic Muslim" or "She's a lesbian" (which aren't true btw). What does that have to do with anything? That's just being prejudice and ignorant. I mean who cares if he was muslim? It's still god. Who cares if she was a lesbian?(still aren't true) They're still human beings who believe in helping the country & the world. I feel sorry for those people because they really don't know how stupid they sound. I personally think they would make great presidents, but that's just me.

I just can't see it, even in my wildest imaginings! And who are all of these people giving her money? That has to mean that somebody thinks that putting her in the White House is a good idea. I'm all for a woman President. The right woman. Not her.

or should we change our system to say that you must have a certain amount of wealth or other evidence of success and committment to the status quo to vote? After all, was this not really the way the founding fathers designed it at first?

Bush is out of office in 2008, so why are the liberals on the far left still wasting time bashing him? Why not focus on issues that can help American, not produce sound bits that help our enemies.

I remember seeing something a while back that put the electoral college into context by comparing the value of one citizen's vote in one state to that of another. For example, due to the weighting of the electoral college, one the vote of a person in California may count half as much as that of one in Idaho. If anyone knows what I'm talking about, please direct me to the correct place. Thanks!

And please, if you have nothing constructive to say, don't bother. I'd like to keep the level of discourse above the troll level, despite this being Y!Answers.

I would. I am doing this as a straw poll to see if it jives with the NYTimes.
