Neither you nor anyone else should decide what is best for a woman. Only an ill informed idiot would think that making abortion illegal will stop them. That only makes them more dangerous. And of course the wealthy will always go where they are legal to have one. Only the poor people will have to go to a back room butcher.

Why don't you provide your sources for the claims you make? I have never heard of the claims that you have made. How can there be a heartbeat before there is a heart? Abortion is a woman's right to choose. As a Pro-choice individual, I believe that after the first month, when a Zygote (look that up) is still a "lump of unformed cells" an abortion is completely moral. After that, It's too late. Deliver to full term and give the baby away. Why do you conservatives want to take rights away from Americans? If the government said that Christians could no longer practice organized religion, would you obey? Of course not. The problem is that you moral majority types want church to intervene with government. It will never happen. Stop trying to take rights away from people and work on providing more rights for Americans.

This is still America where we have choices. Right now Abortion is a legal option. Personally, I would never have one. But on the other hand, I do not feel I have the right to impose my beliefs on someone else. Just another thought along this line-- there are way too many ways to prevent pregnancy if you don't want to be pregnant so no one should need an abortion. Adoption is an alternative to abortion if there is rape, incest, or definite birth defects in utero.
If you are against abotion, you should support efforts to repeal Roe vs. Wade.

Yes, it should be illegal.
Slavery was banned because people knew that African-Americans were people just like I know that an unborn baby is a person. It's not an interferance of church and state.
Also, a baby (at eight weeks after conception) can suck it's thumb, squint, do summersaults, .......... and it has brain waves. How could this not be alive if it can do these things.
Also, Roe vs. Wade should be overturned. It was actually decided that under the fourteenth amendment which says that you cannot be denied liberty without due process of law. This amendment was originally created so freed slaves would be protected from unequal persecution. They decided liberty meant a right to privacy which meant a right to abortion. How does this make sense?
In the Bible it says "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you." --Jeremiah 1:5. Also it says, "Can a woman forget her infant, or be without tenderness for the child in her womb?" --Isaiah 49:15. This explains that the unborn baby is a person.
It is also, proven that babys can feel their abortions. Every 20 seconds a baby is cruelly ripped apart, burned with saline solution or sucked out from there mother’s body.
1/3 of all pregnacies end in abortion.
If a person chooses to do something that produces a baby then it is their responsibility to raise the baby or at least put it up for adoption. People should have a choice for abstinence but, abortion should not be a choice.

The abortion issue is one that should never have been decided at the national level. The constitution clearly defines what states rights are. Roe vs. Wade should not have made it to the Supreme Court. This should be an issue for each state to decide. I realize my belief does not make anyone happy, because it both legalizes abortion and abolishes a woman's right to choose at the same time, depending on which state you live in.

You are a guy. Its none of your business unless you can get pregnant. I heard about a case of a "pro-life" anti choice Republican woman who got pregnant and it was a problem pregnancy--if brought to term it was going to kill her. So she got an abortion. And she learned something--abortion is a very serious matter that people do not waltz into casually like buying a hamburger. So....suppose you were that woman, with a problem pregnancy that was going to kill you. Would you want the right to save your own life, or would you want Big Government forcing you to die????????????
Oh and by the way for all you Christians out there...abortion is not even mentioned in the Bible. Not a single word. Check it.

Not exactly sure what legal abortion has to do with voting democrat. Does that mean if you're in favor of illegal abortions you should vote republican? Abortion has been around as long as unwanted pregnancy has. I'm pro-contraception and pro-adoption. If you don't want to be a mother or father, then use birth control. If you're too stupid, too careless, or too selfish to behave responsibly, then please put the baby up for adoption so it will have a chance with a family that wants it.

I agree with you totally.
Unfortunately if it is against the law the rich will still get them and the poor will do their own are go to someone in a back alley .
I wish there were more people willing to take these women into their homes and help them until they give birth. It would cut down so much on abortions. Many times there is no where for the young girls to go.
I think the men should be held more accountable.
It is still barbaric even in the 21st century.

I should say that abortion may REALLY be needed in some cases. But I do agree that over 1 month, nothing should be done! If a person is not enough responsible to discover her pregnancy before 1 month, then why make her believed she can do it later, killing the baby...
You know in case of rape, or DNA abnormality, contamination (thus possibly creating deformations and more) and others, it is important to discerned the power humans can have on life and on the future of a victime (that in turn will affect the child). And in a country that praise death penalty, I can`t see why a victime cannot have a chance to live on!! Yes criminals pay for their crime, but who support the victims? Our laws should set an exemple and allow them to live their life, as they have intended to do!

because a baby has a heart beat does not mean it could survive on it's own.I am pro choice simply because birth control can fail. what if the mother shouldn't have children because of a medical condition, or what if she was raped. should she endure a pregnancy and could she love a child created from such an act of hate. using abortion as birth control is wrong, yes. there are enough options out there. this is a touchy subject for some people, I suspect you'll get lots of response.in a nut shell- no it should not be illegal. It is a woman's body. she should have the right to choose if she wants to carry a baby for nine months or not. Notice that all of the guys- who have no idea how hard it is to be pregnant -think it should be illegal.

OK, I'll remind you and the other people who try so hard to miss the point here. For the hundredth million time: What abortion rights are about is "Do you, or do you not want to give the government the power to legislate morality? It doesn't give. It takes away the right to choose. Whether or not you feel it's morally justified or not for the government to legislate morality it is still an individual choice. Historically, there have always been alternative methods of birth control. Would you rather practice infanticide?Patricide? How about back alley, coat hanger clinics. Like to see them reemerge? Don't kid yourself. They would.Cloying sentimentality is no substitute for pragmatic decision making. And if some folks want to control what happens to their own bodies what nonsense can you give them to replace that inalienable right?
