It seems that the whole music industry makes their money by slamming Bush in one way or another (Eminem, Radiohead, Dixie Chicks, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.). It's funny that Neil Young's dead career is only resurrected when a Republican that he can write a song and complain about is elected. If these musicians get their wish and get a Democrat as president, what will they belly ache about then?
Wouldn't it benefit their pocketbook to keep a Republican in office? Makes you wonder who they really vote for behind that curtain.
What do you think?

I keep seeing their campaign tv adds, pretending to be neutral saying "vote for the candidate, not their party".... In which case wouldn't the best lier win?.. and what about their support of republican's prescription drug program?.. Shouldn't the seniors be angry at the aarp's slant towards the party that takes from them and gives to the pharmaceutical companies?.. You already know my opinion, both parties have a political agenda and I don't think much of campaign promises, so shouldn't the elections be which political party do you chose?....(the main question: what do you think of the aarp and are they trying to manipulate the elections)

In Arizona they are proposing a lottery to encourage people to vote. Every person who votes is automatically entered into a millon dollar lottery.
I think it's bad. It will just bring uninformed voters to the polls who don't know or don't care about what or who they're voting about, and are just looking at a chance for free money.

Agree or disagree?

Is it because Democrats know they aren't very popular amongst honest, law-abiding people? I guess they need to look for votes somewhere. Too bad they choose criminals instead of real Americans. Only a liberal mind could rationalize this "Felon's Suffrage" movement.

If your state gave out a $1million lottery to a registered voter the day after the elections, would vote rather than stay away from the polls? Would this be an effective way to get non voters to the polls?

This is a Poll for Yahoo users...Who do you think will win the Governors seat this term? And do you believe that Arnold is looking out for the small guy or the Big Billionair Hollwood type?
I watched Phil Angelides and Arnold in a debate and it was like watching to men sitting at a bar and trying to figure out how many lies they could create to impress each other.

Which one and why? This is for the NJ Senate race, and it is very close.

BTW, Menendez was appointed by Corzine, when he left office, and Kean is a current State Senator.

Electronic machines that can easily be hacked into, no paper trail, parties shutting out certain groups of voters, etc. Will this be better or worse than the last few elections? I think it will actually be worse due to the increase in electronic voting machines.

I saw a study that bothered me and I want your take on the subject. If you are not an educated voter, should you still vote. Dems and Reps try to offer and entice people to vote with various incentives (free this and that), but I feel that if you are not making an educated decision, you should abstain just as you would with any other subject. That is my opinion, I am curious how other's feel about it. What if your candidate loses by a few votes and you found out that a group was voting because they were offered something. I think it taints the whole election process.

Yahoo Featured Story: "An Arizona proposition would offer a $1 million prize to get people to the polls."

The implication appears to be that anyone who can legally vote SHOULD vote. But is it not more important that people who do vote be informed?
