It appears that many republicans are leaving the republican party. For instance writer Frank Schaeffer is leaving the GOP because of the smear campaign against a democrat Vietnam marine veteran. This is a person with handwritten thank you letters from various members of the Bush family for some of his writings.

Historically, it's long been considered a "bell-weather" state, one that tends to elect for the eventual winning party.

Yet again, it falls into that category for these mid-term elections.
All eyes will be focused there, as they may ultimately determine which party ends up controlling the Senate.

People are going to go to the voting both and just mark the first candidate they see. There are many greedy people out there who will just show up for the money. I feel it's quite simply the stupidest idea in the history of democracy. But what do you think?

this is obviously directed at people in the united states.

also, tell me why you think voting is important..

i'm almost 19, and this will be my first time voting. i'm excited for this opportunity, but think that a lot of people (especially younger people my age) don't care about voting at all, and take it for granted.

I haven't decided on whom I'll be voting for in the Gubernatorial elections - Crist, Davis, or Linn. Who are you voting for, and why do you think I should vote for that candidate? What issues matter the most to you, and who do you believe will stand up for you the most on those issues? Please, no immature, partisan rants and attacks. I'm looking for serious and thoughful answers to help me. Thanks!
