So many people, so little real knowledge. Do you think that people should be tested on their knowledge and awareness of world affairs and the issues before being allowed to vote on pure emotion and speculation about things they know little or nothing about?

In 1994, ABC New's Peter Jennings described the sweeping GOP victories as voters having a "temper tantrum."

IF the Democrats should win back control of one or both houses of Congress, will the mainstream media call it a "temper tantrum?" Or will they hail it as a return to sanity? I'm betting the latter.

IF THE Republicans are beaten in the November 7 elections, all the people who have opposed six long years of the Bush administration will feel their spirits lifted.

But if they believe a Congress with Democrats in charge of one or both houses will challenge the Republicans’ right-wing agenda in any meaningful way, they will be disappointed.

I know that the republicans pretty much have control over much of congress right now and I'm thinking about voting straight democrat because I personally live in poverty and the democrats are more for the working poor and supporting them and also just because all of the politicians running in the election right now don't really look better or worse then their competitors. Can someone give me their opinion please?

Election Day is only a few days away should the U.S. follow the example of Australia and require that all-legal citizen’s vote. In Australia if you do not vote you can be fined.
From an Australian government web site: http://www.aec.gov.au/_content/What/voting/compulsory_voting.htm

"Compulsory voting means that every Australian citizen (18 years or older) is required by law to enroll and vote. If a person does not vote and is unable to provide a "valid and sufficient" reason, a penalty is imposed. Compulsory voting is a distinctive feature of the Australian political culture."

Would this work in the United States?

I liked him last election and think he would be an optimal candidate to run this year. I've been watching a lot of video's lately and been trying to get an understanding of what he wants to accomplish.

Here are some good videos:

This is a man of war experience and moral balance. I see him as the exit to America's confusion.

What do you think?

According to every source of current event news, that is most likely going to happen.
Will they feel disgraced, beaten, upset, angry...?
Won't they feel like they are able to complain more about what is going on once democrats take office?
And lastly, if all of the messes from Bush are reversed and the middle class gets back on its feet and the Iraq problem is solved, will they ever admit they were wrong?

This isn't a new question, but it's still timely with US elections just a few days away.

So, how about it? Do you actually consider the candidates or do you vote straight party lines?

I'm not a Republican nor am I a Democrat. I have been both, and found ample reason to be disgusted with both parties. It IS important to vote, but don't you dare tell me how to vote! It isn't your right to do so! I see too many so-called Democrats getting heady with a seemingly real victory, and it make me want to slap them silly when they tell me that my views aren't as important as theirs. The same thing goes for the Republicans, who are great motivationalists, but somehow missed the fact that I quit their party because they allowed the Conservatives too much leeway.

I don't know when you grew up, but when I grew up, we celebrated that we all got to vote our minds. That we got to be what makes this country great. Voting Americans.

On election day, I will be voting, with the goal in mind to put two drunken, gluttonous, power-mongering parties on notice that they have to watch their backs! America is watching you, and we're hip to the fact that there are other choices! Beware!

What issues are most important to you? Does the person/people you are voting for have 100% backing from you or are they just the lesser of the two evils. Will you be voting along strict party lines or will you branch out and maybe vote for one or two of the other side?
Please provide reasons and maybe the state you are in. Thank you.

Reps are so hypocrital and they use arguments without parcticing what they used to spreach. Neo cons are liberals and freaks who fear Whites, Muslims, Latinos, Catholics, and Social changes.
