IF THE Republicans are beaten in the November 7 elections, all the people who have opposed six long years of the Bush administration will feel their spirits lifted.

But if they believe a Congress with Democrats in charge of one or both houses will challenge the Republicans’ right-wing agenda in any meaningful way, they will be disappointed.

I think we are voting for Do No Harm. Once the Republicans loose power it will be harder for them to foul things up. We will still have to fix the messes we have.

A 6th year election usually sees the President lose 6-7 Senate seats, and about 30 House seats.

If the Dems don't do at least this well then it's an indictment against them.

You'll notice that the ultra-lib candidates (starting in the Conn. Senate race) are getting shelled.

Repubicans always raise taxes, not the democrats. It will take a whole presidential term just to get rid of the republicans errors and start fixing the deficit so we probally won't see it until we elect the next term democratic also.

If the democrats take control, probably not. They all want change, but have a very wide range views about what this means. They will have a hard time agreeing on anything other than raising taxes.

Sorry but you may want to consider facts not fiction. When Democrats control the house you will see investigations greater than Nixon and Clinton added. You will also see the impeachment of Bush for his crimes in office.
Clinton's lie was wrong. Bush's lie was wrong. Bush's lie caused the American people to support a war that we wouldn't have supported had Bush told the truth. That was the point of the lie. 30,000 or 300,000 or 600,000 people (most of them innocent people just going through life and supporting their families) have died because of a war paid with our dollars in an effort that we would never have supported had we known the truth.

Democrats will surely raise taxes.... but don't expect too much else from them.
